This Ukrainian Artist Breathes Life Into Her Dolls Just By These Simple Steps

Have you ever thought that there are no more natural beauty left in this world thanks to the emergence of Facetune, Photoshop, Snapchat filters and all those unattainable beauty standards?
We all know all that make up layers and fancy clothes can become a form of art and self-expression, there are moments that we feel best relaxed when observing natural beauty, that is: when people are just themselves!
And the question of the unattainable beauty standards has been brought about when taking one of the most popular toys for girls into consideration, which is dolls, whose unrealistic looks might take part in forming young girls’ opinion of true beauty.
To answer the question, Ukrainian artist Olga Kamenetskaya is ready to present the would-be appearance of dolls, supposing that they were designed in a naturalistic manner. She discards of of their original makeup and add new layers that look more realistic and proportional.
It would not be unfair at all to think that the outcome looks even better than the originals. Kamenetskaya told Vogue that each doll has flaws just like ordinary human beings, and her mission is to transform the dolls’ face shapes and add new wigs, if possible, beside changing their features.
“I don’t like when the new face of the doll is ideal and perfectly symmetrical, it makes it lifeless. I always deliberately leave some flaw that may not be noticeable to everyone, but [gives] the doll invisible charisma. Perhaps, this flawed beauty is the message that my dolls carry.”
