"Kraven The Hunter": Russell Crowe's Role Revealed?

In recent weeks, apparently, Russell Crowe has joined the cast of the new project produced by Sony Pictures and dedicated to Kraven the Hunter. This character is a villain in Spider-Man comics and will soon enter the Marvel Universe that Sony is creating, which already includes the two movies featuring Venom and the upcoming Morbius starring Jared Leto.

According to what was reported by The Illuminerdi, Russel Crowe would play Nikolai Kravinoff, the father of the protagonist of the film. Kraven, for the occasion, will have the face of Aaron Taylor-Johnson. And in the last few days, Deadline has also announced that Chameleon will be part of the film and the chosen actor is Fred Hechinger.
There is a lot of curiosity around Kraven the Hunter, also because he is a character highly appreciated by insiders. In the past, writer Chris McKenna even revealed that he and his collaborator Erik Sommers had included Kraven in every first draft of their scripts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man trilogy.
Obviously, the news concerning the part of Russell Crowe is unofficial, therefore it should be taken with a grain of salt. But if this actually happens, the actor would have a prominent role in the film for sure.

Even though Kraven is closely tied to Spider-Man, it is very unlikely that Spidey will be in the film centered on this character. In other words, he will almost certainly be reworked in some way, and treatment similar to the cases of Venom and Morbius is highly expected.
We still have to wait to see exactly what will happen with the Hunter and, even more, how things will be managed in the future, especially with the "Madame Web" movie arriving. Chances are these works will also open once again the doors to the Multiverse. Or rather, to the Spider-Verse.
The release of "Kraven the Hunter" is scheduled for January 13, 2023.
