Disney and Pixar animated films are unquestionably at the top. However, some people are more than just fans.
Morgan and Mason McGrew, 23 and 20, have been working on replicating their favorite movie, "Toy Story 3," for almost eight years.
"Inspired by Disney and Pixar's brilliant creators, my brother and I decided to produce a tribute to our favorite film series while simultaneously exercising our media creation talents," Morgan told reporters.

"Toy Story 3 has always been our favorite film," they replied when asked about their motivation for redoing it. They also said: "When my brother and I were in high school, we decided to practice our filmmaking skills while paying tribute to our favorite film.” Self-discipline, they emphasized, is the key. “We had to strictly hold ourselves accountable for the work in order to ensure the project would get completed.”

Morgan and Mason have been documenting their progress on their YouTube channel, which has become an instant hit. Their trailers have had over 2.5 million views, and the full remake has gotten around 500k views so far, with more on the way. The brothers were able to accomplish this without spending any money.
Because of Disney's copy strike restrictions, they were accused of copying the video shortly after it was released. Fortunately, the brothers quickly issued a statement on YouTube, and Disney quickly removed the claim.

The brothers claimed that finding a location for the "dump" scene was the most difficult part. They tried for hours to get a proper dump but were unsuccessful. They also had to create a dumpster from the scratch. " We are absolutely proud and satisfied with our work. ," they responded when asked if they were pleased with their work. "I don’t think we would have done anything differently. I think everything worked out the way it was meant to.”

After seeing "Toy Story 3" at the cinema, Morgan and Mason decided to start working on this project. They began by collecting all of the toys from the cartoons. They were a little bit obsessive. Their goal was to thank the creators of their favorite cartoon in some way, so they devised a live-action plan.

Two brothers have no plans to recreate additional films, claiming that they need to focus on their other creative efforts. They are grateful, however, because working on this project allowed them to relive their youth. “We don’t play with toys anymore," says the team, "but this project offered us one final chance to "play" with our favorite characters—just as Andy did at the conclusion of 'Toy Story 3.'"

Toy Story 3" was released in 2010, and it is still one of the most successful Pixar films, with a $1 billion box office gain. This part of the franchise deals with growing up. When the owner of the toys goes to college, the toys are left alone and unneeded.

It was not easy to remake this film. There was a lot of preparation and labor that went into this. During the recreation of the movie, the brothers employed stop motion and a variety of other techniques. They went over the movie scene by scene to make sure they didn't miss anything. They used their phones and other inexpensive equipment to achieve this because they can't get access to modern and expensive editing tools. The footage was then aligned with the original film's music.

“Many stop motion shots in the film would take over 5 hours straight to complete. The longest was 8 hours, I believe. We would always listen to our other favorite films or TV shows such as Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Mad Men, and The Office to keep us sane. All of the parts were played by friends and family members, thus the brothers didn't need to hire actors. They all exhibited incredible effort well over eight years. It is hoped that it would serve as an example for others to pursue their dreams and never give up, no matter how difficult it may be.
