Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins The Cast Of "Star Wars: Ahsoka"

Another big name has joined the cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka - the highly anticipated live-action series that will follow the adventures of Jedi Ahsoka Tano played by Rosario Dawson. Specifically, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Mary Elizabeth Winstead has officially taken part in the crew in a role whose details have not yet been disclosed.
Winstead has starred in many action films in this phase of her career, the latest being the vengeance-thriller Kate which arrived on Netflix last year. In 2020, she took on the role of Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress in the DC work Birds of Prey, while in 2019 she was alongside Will Smith in the cast of Gemini Man directed by Ang Lee.

Previously her most iconic role was Ramona Flowers in the highly acclaimed and original Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), directed by Edgar Wright. Other films Winstead starred in include The Ring Two (2005), Final Destination 3 (2006), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), A Good Day to Die Hard (2013), Swiss Army Man (2016), and 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016).
Star Wars: Ahsoka will be produced by the creative team composed of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, former authors of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The events of the series, which will begin production this spring, will be set five years after the events seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Episode VI).

The protagonist played by Rosario Dawson is a Jedi who survived the Great Jedi Purge (19 BBY—3 BBY). The character's popularity exploded with the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and she made her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian.
In the cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka, we will also see Hayden Christensen reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader, while Natasha Liu Bordizzo will be Sabine Wren and Ivanna Sakhno is expected to play a character named Astrid.
At the moment, the series hasn't had an official release date yet.
