50 Pound Bunny Can't Hang Out With Other Rabbits, So She "Adopts" Band Of Rejected Lambs
Have you ever seen a beautiful friendship between different species? In some cases, animals are even closer to individuals of another species than their own groups. A valid example of this is the strong bond between Millie, a giant bunny, and several unwanted lambs.
These animals live in the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre in Scotland with many others. A band of lambs is rejected by their mothers due to several reasons, but a primary one is that the mother doesn’t have enough milk to feed the lamb, or the offspring can’t suckle properly to grow.

As a result, the lambs lack food and warmth, and the zookeepers have to make use of discarded jumpers and sweaters to help the poor animals during the winter months. They also provide the lambs with milk five times every day.Source: Love Nature
Though the animals have food to eat and a toasty shelter to live in, they still crave their mother's affection. The center’s staff struggles to help them, but the solution turns out really close and simple.Source: Love Nature
The little lambs live in the same barn with a continental rabbit called Millie. Because of the huge size, the bunny doesn’t fit in with their fellow rabbits and spends most of her time alone. It’s understandable because giant continental rabbits can weigh up to 50 lbs, which makes it nearly impossible for them to hang out with other bunnies. However, rabbits are social animals, so being alone must be really stressful for Millie.Source: Love Nature
As you might guess, Millie and the rejected lambs are perfect for each other. The little lambs have always been excited to learn about their neighbors, but they didn’t have a chance to get to know other animals. Finally, one day, when Millie was let out of her space, the lambs took the opportunity to approach her. They even followed Millie wherever she went, which has continued in all walking time since then. Everyone is happy for the bunny since she finally has friends and social interaction that she’s dying for.Source: Love Nature
It’s lovely to see how the lambs love the giant rabbit. They can’t wait to see their fellow and try to climb to look over at Millie’s place, and thankfully, this feeling is mutual. The bunny often lies on the grassy field under the sun and enjoys her life with her little lambs playing around.Source: Love Nature
