Leslie Grace Reveals First Official Image Of Herself As Batgirl: "Let Me Kick Their Butts"

Yesterday, American singer and actress Leslie Grace jas just shared on Twitter the very first official image of herself as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl in the next Batgirl movie, which will be released on HBO Max in the course of 2022.

The picture shared by the In the Heights star, as you can see above, shows us the actress in the Batgirl costume inspired by the new design curated by Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr for The New 52 series (2011 - 2016). Therefore, at the moment, it's safe to say the Batgirl crew did not choose the classic costume of the superheroine. In fact, they prefer a more modern look that has the potential to perform at its best in a feature film instead.

While sharing the photo, Leslie Grace didn't forget to cite a passage from the 2003 comic Batgirl: Year One:

Batgirl is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah - the former directors of 2020 hit Bad Boys for Life. It stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl and also features the returns of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Brendan Fraser as of Firefly - the villain of the film, and Michael Keaton as Batman, who also takes part in The Flash movie directed by Andy Muschietti that will be released this year.
At the present time, no details on the plot of the film have yet to emerge, including any confirmed release date. However, at least we know that the Batgirl release will take place simultaneously both in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming platform at the end of 2022.
