10 Reasons Why Spider-Man: No Way Home Is The Best MCU Movie So Far

Phase Four of the MCU has started with some ups and downs in its way. The series WandaVision was a great start, but then unfortunately Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals didn't live up to the audience's expectations.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is the next movie to come to cinemas in Phase Four. Unlike its two predecessors, No Way Home was a huge blast in the box office all over the globe. What makes this movie so great?
Spider-Man: No Way Home offers everything that the audience could ask for in a superhero movie: the team-up of three versions of Spider-Man, the deadly villains, the character's struggles in making decisions, etc. All combined to create an iconic blockbuster of 2021.
Find out more below for the reasons why Spider-Man: No Way Home is the best MCU movie so far!

#1 The reality of becoming a hero

No Way Home realistically portrayed the harsh reality of being a public figure, particularly a hero. After being blamed for Mysterio's death and rejected from MIT,  Peter faces great criticism and boycott from the people that once loved him as Spider-Man. This brutal event has never happened to any other MCU hero but Spider-Man.

#2 The return of Doctor Strange

Peter asked Doctor Strange to cast a spell that erases Spider-Man's identity from everyone's mind. The spell seemd to work well at the beginning, but soon turned out to be a disaster later on when it led to the appearance of the Multiverse characters. This failed enchantment is considered to be Doctor Strange's mistake and served as the basis for the next movie Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

#3 The well-developed notorious villains

There are obviously several villains in the MCU, but not every villain left a decent impression on the audience. Some antagonists are so poor-developed that hardcore MCU fans have difficulties keeping up with them. However, the villains in No Way Home were greatly developed in depth, each of with had their own background stories undergirding the acts and behaviours.

#4 The conflict between Doctor Strange and Peter Parker

When Doctor Strange disagreed with Peter's intention of helping the villains, an intense conflict between them broke out. This led to Peter's unexpected win against Doctor Strange, who had always underestimated the younger Avenger. This conflict also divided the audience into different opinions about who they should agree with.

#5 The painful death of Aunt May

As Spider-Man attempted to help the villains, his action, unfortunately, resulted in the death of Aunt May, the last family member he had left. She told Peter, "With great power, comes great responsibility" at her last breath, hinting at the true consequences of his actions on him.

#6 Three versions of Spider-Man

No Way Home is such an exceptional movie as three versions of Spider-Man made an amazing appearance in the film. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man came together to find Peter and use their experience to help Peter solve the problem. This extraordinary part of the movie added more humor to the movie, reminding us of the famous Spider-Man pointing meme!

#7 The rescue of MJ

Perhaps many of us still remember the tragic death of Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - one of the most devastating moments of the whole Spider-Man franchise. No Way Home, one more time, reminded the audience of this event through the scene where MJ falls from a great height during the final battle. This scene gave the viewers goosebumps when Peter succeeds in saving MJ.

#8 Peter's attempt to kill the Green Goblin

As Peter goes on his journey of helping the Multiverse villains, he faced the Green Goblin, one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies of all time. His initial intention is to help, but his urge to kill the villain gets over him. This detail clearly portrayed Peter's human side more. He may be idealistic, but his urge to defeat the enemies is still there.

#9 Promising future for the MCU

The spell goes wrong, the Multiverse villains appear, and the crack in the multiverse happens. Doctor Strange is struggling to prevent the classic Spider-Man villains like Black Cat, Scorpion, or the Rhino, from entering his universe. This detail may hint the surprising appearance of some villains in the upcoming movies in the promising future of the MCU.

#10 Peter's great sacrifice

No Way Home ended on such a tragic moment where Peter had to make a difficult and painful sacrifice. When the riff in reality cannot be closed, Peter asked Doctor Strange to cast another spell that wipes out the entire existence of Spider-Man in everyone's minds. This sacrifice means that Peter will be left alone in a world that has completely forgotten who Spider-Man is and what he has done for the people.
