Rumor: Marvel Wants Ben Affleck As Daredevil For "Doctor Strange 2"

After Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will continue to bring MCU fans to the real concept of the multiverse that was already presented in these two previous works. Directed by Sam Raimi, the movie will be released in theaters around the world in May 2022 barring further postponements.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has had various stages of filming to arrange and add sequences due to a strategy implemented by Marvel Studios for various reasons. The first obviously concerns the fact that its production plan was already delayed several times due to the pandemic. The second is also a consequence of the pandemic, which leads to the shift in the release dates of many Hollywood movies. The third, which is still a rumor, apparently relates to the desire of the studios to include many cameos in the film.

Accordingly, various reliable insiders have hinted at the possibility that Doctor Strange 2 will be a connecting bridge between the MCU and almost all of the other Marvel films made in the past, a bit like what happened recently with No Way Home.
In fact, it is widely rumored that Patrick Stewart will appear in the movie as Charles Xavier from the X-Men saga. The rumors also involve Magneto, Reed Richards - again played by Ioan Gruffudd from Fantastic Four (2005), Ghost Rider, and other characters.
However, the “multiverse” cameos may not end there.

According to Manabyte's Jeremy Conrad, Marvel Studios has made an offer to Ben Affleck to come back for a brief cameo as Matt Murdock in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Conrad also revealed that the cameo would serve as confirmation that the 2003 movie Daredevil directed by Mark Steven Johnson (which also gave rise to the spin-off Elektra starring Jennifer Garner) is also part of this boundless multiverse, which contains numerous characters with different stories. There, we will also find the main timeline of the MCU - the one with the Avengers in short.

However, the insider stresses that Marvel has no optimism for this deal and nobody can foresee its outcome either. According to the studios, Affleck actually wants to stay faithful to Warner Bros. for which he played Batman in recent years, even if it is true that the Oscar-winning actor and director has confirmed in recent weeks that he has closed the speech with the DC Gotham Crusader.
Shortly afterward, Big Screen Leaks has confirmed Conrad's statement, admitting that Marvel has sent preliminary contracts to Affleck's team.
The first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has revealed that the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch will have to take action to solve a problem across the multiverse, but obviously, we do not know if all these rumors will be confirmed. So to know if Ben Affleck will be Daredevil again, even if only for a few seconds, we will have to wait for the release of the movie.

Matt Murdock aka Daredevil also made an official appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home. As Marvel fans already know, in the film directed by Jon Watts, Charlie Cox briefly showed up as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen - the role he had already played in Netflix's Daredevil series together with vincent D'Onofrio in the role of Kingpin, who instead returned with the Hawkeye series.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2022. The cast confirmed so far includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams. Chiwetel Ejiofor will return as Baron Mordo, while Xochitl Gomez will make his debut as America Chavez in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
