23 Mind-Blowing And Unexpected Easter-eggs In What If...? Season Finale

The very first season of What If...? ended on a high note, with a conclusion that reunited the characters from the past 8 episodes as the "Guardians of the Multiverse." The season finale, like the previous episode, is jam-packed with incredible action scenes, mind-blowing stories, and, of course, easter eggs.
And we're sure there are still plenty of Easter eggs, secret references, and minor details in the What If...? finale that you missed. There are numerous other references; for example, the Watcher informing each individual of the Guardians of the Multiverse, "You are chosen!" is a reference to one of the first Marvel crossovers, Contest of Champions. And the concept of the Watcher bringing together several heroes from all over the multiverse is taken straight from What If...? comics issue #39, "What If... The Watcher Saved the Universe?" And that was just the tip of the iceberg; check out the rest of the Easter eggs below:

#1 Peggy mentions Batroc, who we met in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and he returned in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

#2 Just in case you missed him, Brock Rumlow makes a quick appearance when Captain Carter and Natasha get ready to take down Batroc.

#3 Natasha asks what Peggy's plans are on Saturday, which is a small nod to Peggy and Steve's date from Captain America: The First Avengers.

#4 Natasha tries to set Peggy up with Bernard from accounting, and in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Natasha tried to set Steve up with Lillian from accounting.

#5 This might be a SUPER deep cut, but Bernard was also the name of Howard Stark's flamingo in Agent Carter, and I just really hope this is a reference to that too.

#6 Captain Carter puts down her shield to fight Batroc, it mirrors Steve's fight with him in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

#7 Captain Carter's suit has been updated from her original, which is the same thing that happened with Steve's Captain America suit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

#8 The Watcher goes to get T'Challa, you can see that Ego's blue cloud has enveloped the Dairy Queen, which also happens in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

#9 The Watcher retrieves Gamora, you can see that she and Tony are with Eitri, who we first met in Avengers: Infinity War, and they are destroying the Infinity Gauntlet mold, which Eitri also had in Infinity War.

#10 Tony Stark mentions wanting to put a "suit of armor around the world," which is something he also said in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

#11 You can see that Gamora is wearing the same battle armor that Thanos wore in Avengers: Endgame.

#12 The Watcher proclaims this new team the "Guardians of the Multiverse," which is similar to a Marvel comics group that was called "Council of the Guardians of all Galaxies."

#13 Doctor Strange giving Thor a beer at the pub is similar to when he gave Thor the never-ending beer in Thor: Ragnarok.

#14 Doctor Strange places a protection spell on everyone, you can see that Thor's takes the outline of Asgardian armor.

#15 It happens super fast, but when Doctor Strange unleashes the zombies on Ultron using a portal, you can see that Zombie Captain America, Zombie Falcon, and Zombie Hawkeye are the first to attack.

#16 Zombie Wanda wasn't able to stop this version of Ultron because she was likely distracted by him looking like Vision.

#17 Literally not a hidden detail in the slightest, but the fact that Natasha canonically refers to Alexei as her "da" is something we will be crying over for the foreseeable future.

#18 Peggy mentions that she is one of only "three people" Natasha trusts, and I'm assuming it would be Clint, Peggy, and probably Yelena.

#19 When everyone takes turns fighting Ultron, it's similar to when the Avengers fought Ultron's minions in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

#20 Ultron unleashes his power on the team, you'll notice that Captain Carter's shield withstands the blast but Natasha's Red Guardian shield doesn't. This just showcases that Cap's shield is vibranium, while Red Guardian's is just metal.

#21 Zola overtakes Ultron/Vision's body, it's a nod to Zola's comic book look, where Zola's face is on the stomach of his robotic body.

#22 The Watcher drops Natasha in a new universe, you'll notice Captain America and Captain Marvel are the only two Avengers fighting, meaning it's the universe from Episode 3 when the rest of the Avengers died.

#23 Finally, in our first mid-credits scene in What If...? Season 1, the HYDRA Stomper makes an appearance, and now I'm wondering if Steve will be this universe's Winter Soldier?
