Doctor Strange Is The Villain In His Own Movie? Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Official Trailer Reveals

Even in the last few days of 2021, Marvel still manages to give us something to hype even more than Christmas. They don't allow us any time to chill and are constantly bombarding us with stuff. All of this is to suggest that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness now has its debut teaser video. Marvel released the very first teaser online after it appeared as the second post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it was definitely worth the wait.

Following the dramatic events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange is now grappling with huge issues as a result of shattering open the multiverse to assist Peter Parker. Following WandaVision, we also get our first look at Wanda Maximoff. So, after seeing that teaser video, here are all the information and Easter eggs we need to discuss right now:

#1 The teaser begins with Wong urging Doctor Strange not to "cast that spell," followed by Doctor Strange discussing the universe, which is entirely dialogue from Spider-Man: No Way Home.

#2 We get this incredible sight of Doctor Strange's reflection in his shattered watch, which we first saw in Doctor Strange. Also, the shattered watch might represent how time (and space) are breaking.

#3 Doctor Strange finds himself in a deteriorating version of our reality, and it looks that the Mirror Dimension — which we've seen in Doctor Strange and Spider-Man: No Way Home — is crumbling.

#4 Rachel McAdams appears as Dr. Christine Palmer for the first time since Doctor Strange, and we get a peek of her wedding. However, it does not appear to be her wedding to Stephen.

#5 You can see her iconic star from the Marvel comics on her jean jacket in our first glimpse at America Chavez, who will be played by Xochitl Gomez. The star reflects her capacity to construct star-shaped gateways that allow her to travel throughout the multiverse.

#6 Wanda's first act is to apologize to Doctor Strange for Westview, and we can see that she is no longer residing in the house we saw her in during the WandaVision post-credits sequence.

#7 The portal we see Doctor Strange, America, Christine, and/or Wanda open might be a glimpse of the Nexus of All Realities from the comics.

#8 Chiwetel Ejiofor returns as Karl Mordo for the first time since Doctor Strange. This time, he's dressed in a gold and green suit that closely mimics Baron Mordo's appearance in the comics.

#9 Wanda's Scarlet Witch costume has altered slightly since we last saw it at the conclusion of WandaVision, and I'm really freaked out about it.

#10 When Doctor Strange performs some magic at the conclusion of the video, it's clear that he's utilizing red magic, which is connected with Chaos Magic, or the magic Wanda possesses.

#11 Doctor Strange appears to use his magic to create some... tentacles? Snakes? Something. I'm assuming this is him, once again, harnessing Dark Dimension magic.

#12 Doctor Strange and America Chavez may be seen facing what looks to be Shuma-Gorath on the street. Shuma-Gorath is a mythological one-eyed, multiversal tentacle monster that frequently conflicts with Doctor Strange in comics.

#13 Finally, the teaser video concludes with us confronted with another (presumably malevolent) version of Doctor Strange, whom we previously met in What If...? Episode 4.
