Who Will Be MODOK In “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania”?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, according to rumors, is preparing to become one of the most impactful Phase 4 films on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The new movie in the Ant-Man saga, which will arrive in theaters in 2023, will bring back to the scene the character played by Paul Rudd and his supporting actors after Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame. This time, they will have to deal with the Quantum Realm and some very powerful enemies - one of which has already been confirmed for some time and goes by the name of Kang the Conqueror.

The plot of the film still remains largely a mystery, but multiple sources seem to agree that Quantumania will introduce into the MCU not only the mighty Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, but also another famous Avengers villain: MODOK.
The indiscretion began to circulate on the internet in early November, with insiders reporting that Marvel Studios had hired Jim Carrey to impersonate George Tarleton aka MODOK in Ant-Man 3. However, the news did not find any feedback in the following weeks, and indeed, according to the latest reports, it seems that the origin and identity of the supervillain will be reimagined for the big screen bringing back another character who has already appeared in the past.

In fact, it seems that Marvel Studios have decided to take a different path to that of the comics for the origins of MODOK, repeating what has already been done in the past with some major characters such as Mandarin in Iron Man 3, Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home. This time, however, instead of introducing a new actor and a new character to the MCU, things would be different.
Accordingly, Geeks WorldWide has reported that Corey Stoll will return to the MCU and has been chosen to play MODOK in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This information is not really official, but it completely makes sense.

Stoll is an old acquaintance of the MCU. The actor joined Ant-Man in 2015 as Yellow Hornet aka Darren Cross - CEO of Pym Technologies. In the final showdown between Scott Lang and Cross, Ant-Man managed to tamper with Yellow Hornet's shrinking device, thus sending him subatomically into the Quantum Realm.
So, following this indiscretion, there's a good chance that Marvel Studios will bring Yellowjacket back to the scene by turning him into the one who will become MODOK in the MCU, whose origin has something to do with the Quantum Realm.

After all, as we know from the second film in the saga, there is a concrete possibility of surviving by remaining in this particular dimension and absorbing particular powers - just like Janet Van Dyne did. Could the same have happened to Darren Cross, who has been stuck in the subatomic realm for all these years?
