Amrit Pal Singh lives in New Delhi, India and has been working as a designer and illustrator for 9 years. He only created his first NFT work in February. Singh created it after hearing a friend refer back to his old project called Toy Faces. The friend commented that the project would fit the NFT model very well.
"Straightaway, I got a few bids," said the 32-year-old. Singh continues to sell more NFT work from his Toy Faces collection on NFT exchanges such as Foundation and SuperRare. He also accepts to make additional products according to customer's own requirements.
Toy Faces are animated 3D portraits of various characters, such as Malala Yousafzai, Steve Jobs, and Frida Kahlo. All are handmade products, which means Singh hand-painted each figure. "Most of them are inspired by people who have inspired me,," Singh said.

Although priced differently, each Toy Faces NFT is sold for a minimum of 1 Ether, which is about $4,706.
In addition to Toy Faces, Singh designs and sells another project called Toy Rooms. This is a collection of 3D illustrations of different rooms, including Disney's "Aladdin" cave, the "Lord of the Rings" Hobbit's house, and The Simpsons" living room.
Singh says these rooms are like portals to another world full of surprises and delights. Especially during the pandemic, when isolated in his room, he rekindled his love for 3D illustrations through this collection.
According to the Foundation, the floor price for each Toy Rooms NFT is about 1.22 Ether, or about $5,741 USD. If any of his works are resold, Singh will also earn 10% royalties.
Singh mainly invests in other artists by buying their NFTs. He spent over 30 Ether, or more than $141,000, on NFT to display them in the metaverse.
"I bought virtual galleries, land and a cafe that’s basically a museum for Toy Faces and other art I collect from artists that I really admire," he said.

Though he was “doing quite well” as a designer before NFTs, “it was not at this speed. It’s like three, four years worth of work in seven months,” with income to follow, Singh says. “That was quite incredible to see.”
Going forward, he plans to mostly focus on NFTs full-time, since “NFTs enable me to have something which is more self-expressive.”
