Recently, social media has been stirred by its brand new casting for the upcoming "The Little Mermaid" live-action when Halle Bailey (a part of the singing duo Chloe x Halle) is chosen to be the next Ariel. In an interview with BuzzFeedNews, Director Rob Marshall claimed that the 19-year-old singer was undoubtedly perfect for the role. "It was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” he said.
