Cute Sleepy Koala Struggles To Stay Awake While Zookeeper Gives Her Cuddles And Massages

After a hard day at work, a good sleep is all you need. It's hard to stay awake when you feel tired and sleepy. And this is no exception to our animal friends, especially when they are koalas who are known for their laziness and sleeping abilities. They can spend most of their time sleeping, and just spend only two to six hours awake every day.

If are looking for something cute to make your day brighter, don't look any further as this post is just for you. We would like to show you an extremely adorable video of a sleepy koala named Elsa trying to keep her eyes open while getting cuddles and massages from her adoring zookeeper.

The sweet video was captured and shared by the Australian Reptile Park, shows the cute koala being showered up with gentle belly rubs and face massages while she struggles to stay awake. It is clear that the hands of the zookeeper are so soft that she can't keep her eyes open and instantly fells asleep. Almost every day, her keepers offer her this special treatment, and she loves it so much.

Described as being the park's 'cuddliest koala', but Elsa’s life wasn’t always like that. She had to be cared for by staff around the clock when she was a baby because her mother was not able to produce milk and feed her tiny baby. Among the staff who looked after Elsa, Hayley Shute, also known as ‘koala whisperer,’ is the most caring person. She took Elsa home and cared for her as her own baby.

"My children take it in turns naming the animals that I care for, and I asked my four-year-old daughter what she wanted to call the koala. And of course, the first name to come out of her mouth was Elsa,'' Ms Shute explained.

In June last year, Elsa was gifted with her very own little sister named Anna. Before her sister arrived at the zoo, Elsa shared an adorable friendship with a wombat named Hope. The pair became best friends after sharing an enclosure and spending much of the isolation period amid Covid-19.

Now, Elsa is two years old, but she still acts just like a little baby, especially when she begs for some cuddles and massages from Hayley, or anyone that comes in her way. It's so adorable!
