25 Funny Comics About An Indian Family That’ll Make You Feel Educated
The family appears to be the most beautiful and valuable treasure of a person. No matter how terrible our lives can be, sharing little happy moments with our family members will keep us alive. Since this world is the shared home of billions of families and cultures, each region within a country has a specific lifestyle. Those difficulties have been a great source of inspiration for many comic artists to start a comic series about family, and they can be both hilarious and emotional. Today, we’re introducing you to an Indian artist, Sailesh Gopalan, whose comics will show you what it is like to be born and raised in an Indian family!
Sailesh Gopalan is a design student who studies at the Srishti School of Art Design and Technology in Bangalore. He has created comics for more than six years, and his brainchild, Brown Paperbag, has received so much support from readers worldwide. He describes the series as “a slice-of-life comedy webcomic." This comic highlights the ironies and exploits the stereotypes of Indian families and society. Almost every aspect of Indian life, from traditional weddings to clothing etiquette, is wittily depicted in the artist’s relatable comics.
Sharing his passion for art, Sailesh became interested in comics as a child and doodled whenever he could. He has a list of artists to look up to, including manga artist Eiichiro Oda, author of One Piece; Shen, author of Bluechair and Owlturd Comix; and Sarah Andersen of Sarah’ Scribbles for webcomics. If you feel like making something funny, try it out with crayons and paper and be confident enough to sprinkle it with some jokes.
