“There’s no live-action Avatar movie in Ba Sing Se” is a common joke in the Avatar fandom, referring to the disastrous live-action adaptation in 2010 by M. Night Shyamalan. Therefore, it’s easy to understand why the animated series’ fans remain skeptical as Netflix announce a new live-action project, which is set to premiere in 2024.
