This manager is such a captivating bird. It has golden-yellow lower parts (throat, chin, belly, and rump), irridescent turquoise blue tail and rears of wings, and midnight black foreheads and upper parts. These shades combine excellently, making this bird look like a glistening jewel! Who can keep their eyes off this gorgeous creature?

Large black-chinned mountain tanagers are a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. They are native to Colombia and Ecuador and prefer living in the middle to upper levels in humid forests with abundant moss and borders.

During the breeding season, the female builds her nest that is 3.5 meters above the ground. She then lays eggs in her nest and incubates them for 12-14 days. She continues to feed the hatching until fully-fledged, for around 13-15 days. There is still little information on the male of this species during the season.

Regarding the diets, this beautiful, colorful tanager feeds mainly on fruit, especially berries from many species of plants. But it also hunts insects nimbly on branches for food.
