Nowadays it seems like everybody likes the bad guys more than the heroes. From new TV shows to old movies, the villains are getting more and more spotlight. Millions of Internet users are unafraid to share their reasons why they prefer the dark side more, and their opinions are quite interesting. Turns out there are a bunch of villains that everyone can relate to, and you might be one of them.
Looking back at these shows and movies, we gotta admit that these guys are pushed into pretty horrible situations. Many of us would probably do the same if we were pushed like them. So here are 15 villains that everyone can relate to. Do you agree with their reasons, or do you think these guys are just pure evil? Let us know!
1. Maleficent

Maleficent might be the villain in the Disney animated movie, but not in this adaptation. That a-hole of a king deserves everything after drugging her and cutting off her wings. In case you didn't notice, that whole scene is an allegory for sexual assault, so Stefan has it coming.
2. Squidward

We would become a
Squidward too if our neighbor is SpongeBob. The guy was hilarious and all, but his silliness just made him so annoying. We love watching SpongeBob, but we can't stand people like him in real life.
3. Ken

Tell me you wouldn't go mad after your girlfriend got stolen by a bee. Yeah, everybody would be like Ken if the same thing happened to them. The worst part of it? Ken was the only one who acted normal and the whole world, including his ex-girlfriend, gaslit him into thinking he was the one who got problems.
4. Joker

Heath Ledger’s Joker has some good points. He hit the spot with how flimsy the concept of morality was, comparing it to a bad joke that would be dropped at the first sign of trouble. The lines "When the chips are down, these civilized people, they’ll eat each other" came out cruel, but the reality was never nice.
5. Ultron

Ultron is relatable. If your first impression was based on what people online were like, you would want to wipe out humanity too.
6. Agent Smith

Agent Smith's opinion about humans is right. We take and take and take. With what we are doing right now to the planet and our lives, we are going to destroy everything very soon. If we see the Earth as a living entity with many living organisms in it, then we really are like a cancer virus.
7. Magneto

Magneto is a Holocaust survivor. He knows how cruel humans can be, and they continuously prove him right over and over again. No wonder why he feels like he needs to attack first. Better kill than be killed, right?
8. Mojo Jojo

There was an episode where Mojo Jojo brought free energy and advanced technology to the people. The world became a paradise and such an amazing place to live. It could have been that way if the Powerpuff girls hadn't stuck their noses in.
9. Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy is an extreme environmentalist, but her reason to hate humans isn't wrong. She tried to fix the system and make everybody care about the environment more, but no one gave a damn. The pacifist ways didn't work so she had to choose the extreme and tear the system down.
10. Green Goblin

Green Goblin's quote from Spider-Man will forever live rent-free in our minds. "In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you." He really nailed the description of how the perception of public figures changes over time.
11. Byron And Ella Montgomery

Aria’s parents only tried to do the reasonable thing that every parent would do. They stopped their daughter from being groomed by her high school teacher, and somehow they were the bad guys? WTF?
12. Red Queen

Red Queen did exactly what he was created to do: prevent the virus from spreading out by any means. So she decided to lock down this facility to prevent a world-ending virus. Sadly, the good guys didn't understand and just kept blowing holes in the doors.
13. Roy Batty

Roy Batty has every right to feel angry after what was done to him and his kind. The movies really made us question ourselves about humanity. Should we let our machines achieve self-awareness, and what will we do after that? Are they our equals now, or they're just slaves?
14. Screenslaver

Screenslaver is right. Watching heroes on TV shows and becoming over-dependent on somebody else to save you will ruin your life. Everything you see on TV is just a simulation created to replace true experience. People need to fight their own fights.
15. Gorr the God-Butcher

Gorr has every reason to hate gods. His people and his daughter are dead. He begged the god he worshiped to help them but got spitted in his face instead. The god just laughed at his pain while mocking him, and all the gods in Omnipotence City would probably do that too. How could you not hate them after they did something so sh*tty?
