#1. The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T.

The film is about a boy who dreams himself into a fantasy world ruled by a diabolical piano teacher who enslaves children to practice piano forever. It's a definite fever dream. Honestly, it creeped us all out. Definitely just as weird as the name sounds.

#2. Romeo & Juliet: Sealed with a Kiss

The premise is both weird and interesting. Two star-crossed seals, Romeo and Juliet, fall in love in a magical undersea world, but their feuding families stand in the way. However, absolutely nobody talks about it!

#3. Samson and Sally

There are only two things that stick in my memory from that movie. Two tiny whales on a quest for Moby Dick, and they battled an oil spill by holding their breath to swim beneath it. But tragedy struck, one of them couldn't hold on any longer and died. This film truly shed light on the grim reality of ocean dumping and the hidden depths of darkness it conceals.

#4. Once Upon a Forest

A bunch of forest animal kids have to travel to find a flower needed to make medicine for their friend after she was poisoned by toxic human gas.

#5. A Troll in Central Park

Once expelled from his gloomy realm, Stanley (played by Dom DeLuise), a friendly troll with a special gift for making plants grow, finds himself in Central Park. As a child, I watched this movie often, but certain darker scenes left me feeling quite disturbed.

#6. Babes In Toyland

A girl awakes in a magic world and joins a toy-master and storybook figures to fight against an evildoer. It was wild, to say the least!

#7. Fantastic Planet

Prepare yourself for a wild French animated film from the '70s! The story takes place on a faraway planet called Ygam, where enslaved humans known as Oms are at the mercy of giant blue native beings called Draags.

#8. Happily Ever After

It was a Snow White sequel that wasn’t released by Disney and it was weird AF. Totally gave me weird feelings watching it as a kid, but I also couldn’t stop watching it.

#9. Watership Down

It should never have been a kids' movie, but a lot of '80s kids watched it. However, it has been banned by individual schools because of its violent content. Even though it is a novel about rabbits, it addresses dark topics like suicide, prejudice, and genocide.

#10. Freddie as F.R.O.7

Hey, does anyone else recall this? It was like a James Bond-style character who got turned into a frog by his aunt when he was young. And get this, he had these cool abilities like moving stuff with his mind and even flying. It's such a bizarre movie, but I can barely remember anything about it, except for the part where he encounters the Loch Ness Monster at the start.

#11. Konrad

It’s about this lonely middle-aged woman who unexpectedly has a canned (yes, he’s sealed in basically a giant soup can) perfect child delivered to her door by mistake. She bonds with the child and grows to love him, but the people who made him are trying to take him back. It’s so weird and absurd. Even weirder as an adult.

#12. The Magic Pearl

It's a cartoon movie that's inspired by an old story from China. The story is about a brother and sister who, for some reason that's not explained, are taken from the 1990s to ancient China by their grandma. They have to find two brothers who took a necklace from a dead person, but the ghost of the person keeps haunting those two brothers. This movie is like a crazy dream and it can get quite spooky at times.
