Marcus Rashford Hails 'Idol' Cristiano Ronaldo And Thanks Him For 'Things He's Done For' Man United'
Marcus Rashford hails 'idol' Cristiano Ronaldo and thanks him for 'things he's done for Man United after the legendary striker's contract was terminated by both parties following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
Despite the comments made, his current former team-mate Marcus Rashford spoke about Ronaldo during a press conference in England where he described the Portugal captain as one of his idols. and thank him for what he did for Man Utd.
Rashford stated: 'It has been an unbelievable experience to play with him. He is one of my idols and someone I always looked up to. It's something I can keep with me forever, I wish him all the best and we want to thank him for the things he’s done for Man United'
Ronaldo's interview with TalkTV shows the former United No 7 revealing he has 'no respect' for boss Erik ten Hag and admits the club has made no progress since Sir Alex Ferguson left the Red Devils. He also confessed that he feels 'betrayed' by the club and believes some at Old Trafford don't want him to stay at the club.
Ironically, Ten Hag has prioritized placing faith in United's young stars, especially in the forward side, where Rashford and Anthony Martial are part of Ten Hag's new approach to United's frontline.
Rashford is considered to benefit from the change and has already netted eight goals so far this season. A far cry from last year, where he tried for form and only scored 5 times in all competitions.
The goal was Rashford's first England goal at a major tournament, having featured in the squad for Euro 2016, World Cup 2018, and Euro 2020.
