"Berkeley Mews" is a hilarious short comic series created by artist Ben Zaehringer in 2009. Ben's comics aren't innocent and don't have regular humor, but you can always smile when you look at the bright side of things in his comics. Talking about his creative process, Ben says he has been doing cartoon drawings for as long as he can remember. The author took art lessons at a nearby high school and college, where he learned to draw life and basic anatomy. And now, the artist uses what he's taught to develop his creative ideas. Ben joked: “My first comics were all in the style of newspaper comic strips, like FoxTrot and Peanuts, only bad instead of good,” But he gets better with time, and now he has more than 180k fans from all over the world. Reading "Berkeley Mews", we see disappointment as the main theme of every comic. "When I'm writing I ask myself: How can something fun be made disappointing?" explained the man. What a quirky idea!
When asked about his advice for those who want to make it as he did, Ben told: "Make a lot of comics and then post them every day. People love daily updates." To him, drawing comics wasn't for a living for granted, but he explained the feeling in one word "surreal." Ben’s works are hardly ever longer than four panels and always end in funny twists, so they will surely make you burst out laughing.
