Everyone has some sort of irrational dread or phobia. Our forefathers likely had a hand in it. Survival of the fittest certainly helped our species get thus far, as did a natural aversion to things like wild creatures, heights, and the dark (since who knows what lurks there, anyway?).
There are, however, phobias that defy explanation. These ten famous people have some of the most outlandish phobias, ranging from a fear of being naked in public to an allergy to houseplants. We feel bad that they are afraid, but we're relieved that we don't have to deal with the same things.
1. Hilary Duff

The part where we said these phobias seemed a little out of the usual has been removed. Germs are found in dirt, and the diseases that germs cause can be rather debilitating. Dirt is an excellent source of germs. We can almost guarantee that Hilary Duff did not spend much time running around and playing on the grass as a child.

Along the same lines as Hilary Duff, the famous football player despises the presence of dirt. On the other hand, this is an entirely new kettle of fish. According to one theory, asymmetriphobia is the fear of items of clothing that do not match or anything else that does not appear symmetrical.
3. Kelly Osbourne

It would appear that Kelly Osbourne, the outspoken daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, is extremely sensitive to physical contact. We are unsure whether this is, once again, a hygiene issue or whether the kid of the Prince of Darkness simply does not like dealing with those of us who are of the common folk.
4. Robert Pattinson

The star of Twilight is rumored to suffer from a fear of horses that is known as equinophobia. Mr. Pattson, please enlighten us: does this only refer to horses, or does it also include things like ponies? In what way do you feel about unicorns?
5. Matthew McConaughey

It would appear that very little is known about this fear. Some people believe that it could be connected to either claustrophobia (the dread of enclosed spaces) or agoraphobia (the fear of open spaces) (fear of open spaces). The first interpretation appears to have greater coherence. In either case, checking into and out of hotels must be a living nightmare for the actor.

We don't want to make fun of other people's problems, but the irony of this situation is just too much for us to hold back our laughter. It just seems strange that a person who was once thought to be one of the most beautiful women on the globe might be terrified of seeing evidence that they were once considered to be one of the most beautiful women on the planet.
7. Oprah Winfrey

This one is extremely uncommon, and according to reports, it can seriously impede a person's day-to-day life, particularly if they have general anxiety about being in the same room as people who chew gum. It's probably for the best that Oprah never considered becoming a teacher.
8. Orlando Bloom

It is said that someone let a pig loose on the Kingdom of Heaven set while it was filmed not too far from Orlando. The incident supposedly took place in 1997. You can probably guess the kind of response received after hearing that. There is a good chance that dogs will experience the same reaction when the vacuum is turned on.
