Lansbury made her penultimate film appearance playing her last starring role in the 2018 fantasy film Buttons: A Christmas Tale. Lansbury's final film role was a cameo appearance in Rian Johnson's 2022 detective drama Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

She was photographed sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun on a 1972 visit to Hanoi, during which she gained the nickname "Hanoi Jane".
