What Happened If Disney Princesses Had Muscles And A Big Belly

For many decades, Disney princesses have been the best role models for many children all over the world. They are all kind, talented, and have extremely svelte physiques. But sometimes, this undermines the characters and their story - as is the case with Mulan. For a girl who was undergoing rigorous training in the army, Mulan didn't seem to have any muscle. Other princesses, like Cinderella or Ariel, have tiny waists that followed stereotypes about beauty standards.
With all of this in mind, illustrator Wyethe Smallish decided to change the Disney Princesses and other characters into different realistic body types based on the image from a classic Disney movie. And the result was extremely impressive and received great attention from Disney fans. She also shared with us where she got the inspiration: "I have my own body image issues that I work on, and a major way that I do that is through my art. So as a therapeutic exercise, I wanted to alter some characters I really loved growing up."

I didn't even notice the difference when I immediately looked to the right and was shocked to see the left! It's absurd how slim Ariel is. Sadly, we watch it grow up and just think her body's normal.

Yeah, but Cinderella should be shown as too skinny. She wasn't fed properly and had to do all the hard manual labor

I am usually not a fan of Disney redraws, however, I really like this one. Mulan would have been muscular since she was constantly training and fighting. She was a warrior and would have had defined muscles.
