15 Celebrity Couples Whose Marriages Remained Less Than A Year

Most people believe that marriage is a special bond that ties two individuals together for all time. From an early age, we are taught that our wedding day is one of the most significant events in our lives. As a result, the majority of us spend our entire lives looking for the "perfect someone" to marry and spend all of eternity with.
Unfortunately, not every marriage did succeed. Sometimes people choose the wrong partner. Sometimes people get married before they are prepared for it before they are prepared to dedicate their lives to just one person and to work through the inevitable conflicts that will develop.
Unfortunately, Hollywood has a reputation for producing short-lived marriages. Why? Nobody knows. There are certainly plenty of attractive ladies and handsome guys in Hollywood, so perhaps there is just too much temptation available. And when there is chemistry between two gorgeous people, falling in love is quite simple. People could fear that by dedicating their lives to a single individual, they would miss out on something better.
There is something to be said for weddings that last less than a year and fail. Some of the famous marriages we'll talk about below barely lasted a month, let alone a year.

#1 Bradley Cooper And Jennifer Esposito – 4 Months

In a very private wedding ceremony, Jennifer Esposito and Bradley Cooper were wed in 2006. In fact, nobody even knew when or where the ceremony took place, but perhaps it's best that we were unable to attend. They were only married for four months, after all.
Cooper admitted that they both gradually came to understand their mistakes after their divorce. In her book Jennifer's Way: My Journey with Celiac Disease - What Doctors Don't Tell You and How You Can Learn to Live Again, Esposito criticizes an unnamed ex-lover but makes no mention of her extremely brief marriage to Cooper. Many people believe that Cooper is the ex-lover.

Do you remember when Britney Spears wed Jason Alexander, a childhood friend? The fact that their marriage only lasted 55 hours makes it one of the shortest celebrity couplings ever, so don't be too hard on yourself if you can't.
Spears and Alexander wed in Las Vegas in 2004, but the union was by no means unique and was unquestionably a hasty choice. The pair paid $70 for a seven-minute wedding ceremony. The couple asked for an annulment 55 hours later. According to Spears, she “lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage," according to Rolling Stone magazine.

However, Electra claimed that was only because no one could see what she did, according to Daily Mail. Soon after, Electra and Rodman wed in Las Vegas in 1998. Their union sparked a lot of rumors, particularly after Rodman's agent suggested that his client might have been drunk throughout the ceremony.
Naturally, Electra and Rodman insisted that their union was sincere, but nine days later they requested an annulment. According to Time, Electra later said that choosing to get married in Las Vegas was undoubtedly a dubious choice. According to Daily Mail Electra has said that their relationship was not all bad – “Our relationship was very passionate. When it was good, it was amazing. And when it was bad, it was the worst.”

Sadly, the two had to continue working together on One Tree Hill, but after Murray departed the show in 2009, they never again spoke.
E Online claims that Bush finally developed coping mechanisms for dealing with her ex-husband. However, it is clear from her comments that Bush does not think highly of her ex-husband. When prompted to comment on Murray, she gave the following response: “My mother once said to me that if you don't have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all."

Actor Colin Farrell and actress Amelia Warner fell in love right off the bat, got married, then quickly fell out of love and split up. Although to be fair, their marriage wasn't actually legal, it just took four months or so.
You can recall that Farrell and Warner began dating in 2000 and were married on a Tahiti beach in 2001 when he was 25 and she was 20. It looked like they would be together forever, and eventually, they got married—which turned out to be illegal. Farrell said that their marriage was "too fast and too young" after the pair parted ways, according to Blasting News. On his ring finger, the actor even got Warner's name tattooed.

At the time of their divorce, Green cited irreconcilable differences as the reason. Green later claimed that his marriage to Barrymore was nothing more than a "crazy, tornado of a time" in an appearance with Oprah. Green also added that he and Barrymore have not kept in touch – “I haven’t talked to her in many, many years. I’m glad she’s doing great. I’m really happy that she’s doing good.” Barrymore did not say anything about her marriage with Tom Green or her subsequent divorce, either at the time or later.

In Bora Bora, Murphy and Edmonds got married in a $500,000 spiritual ceremony under the belief that they would exchange vows in a legally binding ceremony once they returned to the US. But it never happened; instead, the pair left Bora Bora separately and not on good terms.
What was the reason behind the couple's argument? On a number of issues, Murphy and Edmonds did not concur. First of all, it appears that Murphy wanted Edmonds to adopt his name, which she was not willing to do. Additionally, Edmonds wanted Murphy's mother and his buddy to vacate his Los Angeles home so they could live there alone. Further complicating matters, some claim that Murphy's mother has never liked Edmonds.

It's interesting that Judd insisted that their marriage didn't end because of publicity and invasion of privacy. Instead, he implied that Lopez isn't focused on improving her connections. Yet, according to Daily Mail, Lopez has good memories of Judd.

It's interesting to note that Holly was eligible to receive half of Carrey's earnings during their marriage after their divorce. The star gave her $9.6 million in all.
Although the couple claimed that their divorce was due to "irreconcilable disagreements," several people believe that Carrey's rage is what drove Holly away. Others claim that the couple's marriage failed because of Carrey's lucrative career and Holly's less successful one.

Anderson wrote ecstatically about her wedding at the time on her website. The couple filed for divorce after four months. They received it in 2007. Anderson claimed in a recent interview that since their divorce, she hasn't spoken to Kid Rock. She hasn't discussed her marriage with him or the specifics of their breakup too much.
However, Kid Rock spoke extensively. It appears that once he wed Anderson, his life turned into a circus. He said, according to Access Online – “I knew it was a bad career move, to begin with, to get involved with her and everything around her. Your life becomes this frickin’ circus because that’s what she wants is this media attention and my first love is music, and now you gotta look like the clown because you’re involved with her.”

Cage had divorce papers filed by November. They shouldn't have gotten married in the first place, according to what Presley allegedly claimed later. Cage and Presley are still friends and don't regret their marriage.

#15 Renee Zellweger And Kenny Chesney – 4 Months

Source: Yahoo

Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney wed in May 2005, but their union only lasted four months. The actress gave "fraud" as the cause for the dissolution of her and Chesney's marriage at the time of the annulment. This immediately sparked suspicions that Chesney was rooting for the opposing side and that he had neglected to tell Zellweger about it before they got married. The actress quickly clarified to everyone that the word "fraud" was just being used as a legal term and not in any way as a characterization of a character.
Years later, Zellweger acknowledged how much the speculations about Chesney's orientation actually impacted her. According to Hollywood Life, Chesney claimed that he simply panicked in order to justify the hasty marriage and hasty divorce with Oprah.
