Everybody in Hollywood seems like they know each other. Turns out some of them actually know each other on a personal level, they share the same bloodline after all. Not a lot of people knew these celebrities were related, and there was nothing wrong with that. We didn’t know Tom Hanks and Abe Lincoln were distant cousins either.

1. President Obama and Brad Pitt

Famous actor Brad Pitt and president Obama are ninth cousins. Their common ancestor was Edwin Hickman, who died in Virginia in 1769. Obama revealed this secret in an Interview back in 2008. When asked if he was related to Brad Pitt, the former President replied: "I guess we’re ninth cousins, something removed – or something." He then jokingly added: "I think he got the better-looking side of the gene pool."
2. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci formed a great friendship on the set of The Devil Wears Prada. Emily went on and invited Stanley to her wedding after the movie, and introduced him to her sister Christine. Two years later Stanley and Christine got married, which turned him and Emily into in-laws.
3. Janet Leigh And Jamie Lee Curtis

Janet Leigh was a Hollywood icon in the ’50s. Nowadays you might know her through the infamous shower scream scene in the thriller movie Psycho. But not many people know that her daughter was also a famous scream queen on the silver scene: Jamie Lee Curtis. Yup, two talented actresses are mother and daughter. They even starred together in The Fog and Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later.
4. Taissa Farmiga and Vera Farmiga

Fans of horror know Vera Farmiga through her amazing performance in The Conjuring movies. However, not many of us know that the Academy Award nominee has a sister who also happens to be the star of another popular thriller franchise. Her little sister is none other than Taissa Farmiga, the star of American Horror Story. Vera is 21 years older than Taissa and they both come from a large family of seven siblings altogether.

Phil Collins is famous for his epic drum solo in the song “In the Air Tonight.” His music was a huge hit in the 80s and he became a Hollywood icon ever since. His daughter, Lily Collins, also became an icon, but she pursued an entirely different career path. Their relationship was a bit rocky during Lily’s childhood, but they reconciled.
6. Tom Hanks and Abe Lincoln

Turns out Tom Hanks and the most beloved president of America were cousins, third cousins four times removed to be exact. The famous actor revealed to the Daily Mail in 2012 that Lincoln’s mother was called Nancy Hanks, and that “the members of my branch of the family are either cousins or in-laws or poor relations." Ancestry.com's genealogists confirmed that Hanks is Lincoln's really, really distant cousin.
7. Julia Roberts And Emma Roberts

Another AHS star that is related to an Academy Award-winning actress is Emma Roberts. Turns out she was Julia Roberts’s niece. Julia and Emma even starred in the 2010 rom-com Valentine’s Day together. While Emma might not as popular as her aunt, there was no doubt that she made quite the name for herself in Hollywood.
8. Nicolas Cage And Francis Ford Coppola

Everybody knows Nicolas Cage is an Academy Award-winning actor who starred in many cult-classic movies, but not a lot of us know about his relationship with the famed Director Francis Ford Coppola. He was actually Coppola’s nephew. Can you imagine the fame of being the Godfather director’s nephew? Yet Nicolas changed his last name to “Cage” so no one would know this fact!

Speaking about talent runs in the family, Snoop Dogg is Brandy’s first cousin. Their parents come from McComb, Mississippi. The famous rapper shared this during one of his interviews with MTV, saying “Brandy’s my first cousin… That’s my family.”
