10 Underrated Weapons In Marvel That You Want To Fight Bad Guys With

What makes a good superhero? A just ideal, a strong power, a good look, and sometimes, an iconic and powerful weapon. A weapon is a pivotal part that always comes along with a superhero, without it, they’ll be helpless. There are tons of formidable superhumans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who wield weapons just as powerful, such as Thor with his mythical hammer Mjolnir, Iron Man with his wide range of artillery, or Thanos with his fully charged Infinity Gauntlet,… The list is endless.
However, there are also a lot of other powerful weapons that have been flying under the radar for a while. Some of them are just as good as the others, some have unique features that we all want to try out for ourselves, but sadly didn’t get mentioned enough in the Movies. Therefore, we are here to look at these 10 most underrated weapons in the MCU which we might have forgotten about.

#1 Yaka Arrow

The trademark weapon of the Ravagers’ former leader, Mary Poppins- I mean Yondu, theYaka Arrow got to be one of the most unique items in the whole franchise. Instead of holding it like a sword or firing it like a gun, you simply had to whistle using your mouth, and the arrow will fly freely at will, piercing anything standing in its way. The epic scene where Yondu single-handedly eliminated a whole Kree squad using the arrow in Guardians of the Galaxy sent chills over our spine, and make us want to pay for a whistle lesson as soon as possible.
Easy as it seems, it takes a whole lot of time to truly master the arrow. After Yondu’s passing, we can see how Kraglin, the new addition to the squad, struggled to control it at first. Let’s see if this cool arrow will have its moment in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 coming this May.

#2 Stealth Suit (Night Monkey)

Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy has introduced us to some brand-new epic Spidey suits, with the most popular one being the Iron Spider. However, there is one outfit that can literally fly under the radar that we might have forgotten about, the Night Monkey. Initially made for stealth purposes, the Night Moneky lacks some high-tech features that Peter has in his other suits, but its simplicity does the trick, for comedic purposes, at least.

#3 The Falcon Wings

A gear that allows you to fly in style and knock down your enemies at the same time? Sign me right up! The Falcon Wings makes its debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and we were all amazed by how cool it looks. Unfortunately, it didn’t get much screentime until The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, but we’ve seen glimpses of its abilities: besides flying, the suit can also help you fight evil while airborne using hidden guns and a drone. How cool is that?

#4 Bucky's Vibranium Arm

Source: Marvel Studios

Enough about Sam, now we move on to his partner. Made using the hardest form of metal known to humanity, Bucky’s prosthetic arm was a formidable threat in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now that Bucky’s on the good side, he can now use it to lend everyone else a hand (no pun intended). The arm is almost unbreakable, and the cool aesthetics would make you stand out in every wrestling contest over the world.

#5 Black Widow's Gauntlets

People made fun of Natasha Romanoff for bringing the handgun to fight the cosmic army of Thanos, but they often forget she also has an equally devastating weapon at hand: the electric gauntlets. Inspired by the deadly arachnid’s stinger, Romanoff’s gauntlets charge high-voltage electricity that can tase a grown man to death, so I’m sure they can do some damage against one of the strongest villains in the MCU.
Ok, all jokes aside, Black Widow’s gauntlets are still an iconic trusty weapon that’s been with her since day one, but they really need some upgrade to handle stronger enemies.

#6 Hawkeye's Recurve Bow

Source: Marvel Studios

In these days and age, no one in the right mind would choose a measly bow instead of guns or other high-tech weaponry, but then we have Clint Francis Barton. Nicknamed the 21st-century Legolas, Hawkeye has mastered the art of using his collapsible recurve bow to the extent that not only he can shoot his arrow with great accuracy, but also can change the arrow’s direction midair. He also has a wide range of projectiles to choose from, from grappling hooks to tear gas and explosive arrows. Hawkeye’s bow and arrow can be a bit pale compared to other big-scale weapons such as Mjolnirs or Iron Man’s suits, but it’s still a cool item to fight against evil, right?

#7 The Wasp's Suit

Source: Marvel Studios

The Ant-Man suit was such a fun and iconic outfit, it completely drowns The Wasp’s, which is equally powerful. Hope Van Dyne’s armor has everything that Ant-Man has: the ability to shrink/enlarge oneself in a blink of an eye, the aesthetics, and the same silly glitches as well. The Wasp even has a pair of wings, an upgrade that Scott Lang is yet to acquire. We’re crossing our fingers to see more of this suit in future sequels.

#8 Cloak of Levitation

More than just flying, Doctor Strange’s cloak seems to have a mind of its own. It can attack enemies by its own will and can automatically come to protect a citizen in need. Rather than a weapon, it feels like the cloak is a partner of Doctor Strange instead, and it can also make him look stylish as hell in the middle of combat.

#9 Gungnir

Source: Marvel Comics

Originally one of the most powerful weapons in Norse Mythology, the only thing that keeps Gungnir from being popular is Odin’s lack of appearance in the MCU. Its prowess can be on par with even the Mjolnir, if not stronger. With the spear in hand, Odin has conquered all Nine Realms, with the battle against the Frost Giants being a prime example. The All-Father can teleport people with it as well. Unfortunately, Gungnir was lost in Ragnarok, but we all hope to see this legendary weapon make its appearance again.

#10 Hofund (Bifrost Sword)

Source: Marvel Studios

We have another Asgardian weapon besides Gungnir on this list. Not as powerful as Odin’s spear, but Heimdall’s Hofund is just as unique. The sword serves as the key to opening the Bifrost to send others to different dimensions, and it can also be a good item to have in a fight. It allows Heimdall to protect the remaining Asgard citizen against Hela’s army in Thor: Ragnarok, and helps him transport Hulk to Earth, escaping from Thanos’ hand in Avengers: Infinity War.
