10 Twists That Are Called “Plot Holes” but Actually Very Easy to Explain

It seems to be a trend when many movies have moments that stretch the bounds of realism. These details are distracting and ill-fitting which takes viewers out of the story. While superhero adventures are required to be extraordinary, these films ground themselves in the real world only to ignore the logic of that world. Watching these scenes, we shake their heads and raise our eyebrows because they give us more questions than answers. But, we can’t deny that it is entertaining.
Have you ever wondered why the characters in “Friends” could live in such expensive apartments, or why the couple in “A Quiet Place” decided to have another child with hungry monsters all around them? It seems that directors just include them without reason but in fact, many of the things are actually very easy to explain.
Below are 10 eye-rolling twists that make more sense than we thought.

#1 Where Harry has the mirror shard from

The mirror shard often appears unexpectedly and it happened in “Harry Potter”. There is a scene where Harry pulls the shard out and asks the stranger for help when he was in danger. Writers just forgot to tell the story of this artifact.
Sirius gave the mirror to Harry to keep the connection and after the artifact broke, Harry kept it.

#2 Why the immortal Cullens go to school

It is strange that all the Cullen children go to school. Their ages are about 17 years old when the Cullens could go to college or find jobs instead of learning the same things over and over again.
Well, the most important thing they need is safety. Carlisle works as a doctor in a small town, so his children need to act so that nobody gets suspicious.

#3 How Monica could afford to live in such an expensive apartment

The huge apartment where Monica lived is rented in one of the most expensive cities in the world. It might cost at least $2,500 per month. It might be too expensive for a chef. But in fact, Monica affords to pay the rent because it was fixed at $200 per month. Moreover, she also inherited the apartment from her grandmother and the rent hadn’t changed since the 1940s.

#4 How the poster remained in place after Andy escaped

Andy Dufresne in “The Shawshank Redemption” escaped from jail by digging a tunnel for 20 years. He used his Rita Hayworth poster to cover the hole. The question is how he was able to put the poster back after crawling into the tunnel.
In fact, you can do that if you keep the top part of the poster on the wall, get into the tunnel and let it go, the poster will just fall back in place.

#5 Why Katniss wouldn’t let her sister take the tesserae

Many wondered why Katniss didn’t let her sister take tesserae to exchange for food. Prim would have to sign up for the games, but if Prim got picked, Katniss could volunteer for her anyway. It was difficult to understand because they would still get more food.
It is a fact that if Prim takes tesserae, she will keep getting her name entered into the games more often every year, including after Katniss turns 18 and becomes ineligible to volunteer.

#6 Why the couple had another baby during the apocalypse

It is so weird when you decided to have a baby in "A Quiet Place" because you can't ask an infant to be quiet, especially when there are monsters around.
The explanation is that after the monsters appeared, people didn’t have many birth control options. Pregnancy just happened without any plan.

#7 Why the mom simply didn’t call Kevin

Many viewers thought that if Kevin’s mom called home to find out if her son was fine, problems have been solved.
In fact, she tried to call home several times but because of an accident, people in the city were disconnected. In the 1990s, it’s understandable that the power line that was knocked over was for long-distance calling, but the local line still worked.

#8 Why drillers were sent to the asteroid

In “Armageddon”, when finding out a giant asteroid moving toward Earth, scientists come up with a smart plan. However, an oil field worker sees problems and offers help. He and his team go to the asteroid.
Viewers felt it was illogical when sending a team of drillers to space instead of teaching astronauts to drill. But many might not know that NASA and other agencies do it all the time: they often hire specialists for certain missions.

#9 Why smart aliens came to Earth if they were scared of water

At the end of “Signs”, the characters discovered a secret that the aliens are allergic to water. So why they chose Earth, a planet that’s mostly full of water to stay on?
Well, you can notice that the film never mentions the creatures are aliens, they might be demons.

#10 Why Rhaenyra refuses any help during Visenya’s birth

When feeling that her 6th baby was coming, Rhaenyra refused all the help. The detail gave viewers many questions. Why? Did she think she’d do better without medical help?
In fact, she was observed with her mother who died during a difficult birth and the midwives were there. She just wanted to control the situation by herself.
