10 Marvel Heroes Whose Future Is Uncertain In The MCU

Moving on from Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow’s departure, the Avengers have acquired some new blood in recent years, and a brand-new team is guaranteed to help protect Earth in the upcoming Phases of the MCU. Popular characters such as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, or Sam Wilson’s Captain America are expected to lead the new Avengers in their next adventures, and we are certain that some familiar faces like the Hulk, Thor, and Scarlet Witch will make their return as well.

However, since the MCU roster has too many heroes, there are some lowkey characters in the franchise that haven’t had a clear future yet, despite having great potential. Many of us fans want these characters to appear in future MCU projects, as they wield immense power and can help the Avengers a lot in upcoming crossover movies such as The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. Let’s take a look at these MCU heroes who deserve to have a clear future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

#1. G'iah

Making her MCU debut in the controversial TV series Secret Invasion, G’iah is easily one of the strongest superheroes up to date, as her body is greatly enhanced with the Harvest, a collection consisting of DNA from both superheroes and villains alike who fought in Avengers: Endgame. With the Harvest, G’iah gains the abilities of some of the most powerful beings there are, including Hulk, Captain Marvel, Mantis, or even Thanos himself, making her ridiculously strong.

However, as Marvel Studios had confirmed, they haven’t had any idea how to handle this overpowered character in future projects just yet, so we might have to wait a while to see G’iah again on the big screen.

#2. Kate Bishop

Bishop is expected to be the direct inheritor to Clint Barton’s Hawkeye legacy, who wields equally impressive archery skills. The fact that she’s portrayed by the popular Hailee Steinfeld is another reason why Marvel fans are looking forward to her return. There have been rumors about the young archer being a crucial part of the MCU’s Young Avengers project, however since there is no official confirmation just yet from the studio, Bishop’s MCU future is still shrouded in mystery.

#3. The Eternals

Consisting of a star-studded cast with big names such as Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie or Don Lee, however, The Eternals didn’t live up to the expectations. The 2020 titular movie wasn’t exactly a box office hit, and the lukewarm reception from fans discouraged Marvel from making a sequel. The Eternals’ future in the franchise may be yet to be over, as they still have a lot of potential to explore, but for now, let’s not get our hopes up too high.

#4. Starforce

Along with the Eternals’ failure, another potential character who appears at the end of the movie, Starforce, also has a very uncertain future in the MCU. Portrayed by Harry Styles, Starforce is expected to be a great addition to the squad, and he also has a quite interesting background in the comic to explore, being Thanos’s brother. A future Eternals movie could dive deeper into the character’s relationship with the deceased Mad Titan, but it won’t likely happen any time soon.

#5. America Chavez

With He Who Remains’ death in Loki series, the Multiverse has grown out of control at an exponential rate, and America Chavez appears to be a unique character who can traverse between realities with her portal ability. She’s later joined by Earth-616’s Stephen Strange to protect her from the Scarlet Witch, and the two have to travel through countless universes to find the book of Vishanti. With her ability, Chavez can have a great future in the MCU, but again, the studio hasn’t included her in any upcoming projects yet.

#6. Cassie Lang

Scott Lang’s troublesome daughter, Cassie, inherits her father’s intellect and vast knowledge about the Quantum Realm, and has an unforgettable adventure with her family into the Quantum World to fight against the mighty Kang the Conqueror. She has all the potential to take on the Ant-Man mantle from her father, and could be a crucial member of the Young Avengers just like in the comic, should Marvel decides to bring the team to life.

#7. Skarr

Aside from Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, Wil Deusner’s Skaar is another nice addition to the Hulk family. Making his comic debut in the 2008 World War Hulk comic, Skaar’s appearance in the series might hint at a potential World War Hulk movie in the MCU that everyone has been looking forward to. However, with no confirmation just yet from the studio, Skaar’s future in the MCU is still largely in doubt.

#8. Love

Brought back to life in Thor: Love and Thunder thanks to her father’s dying wish, Love seems to succeed the Eternity’s cosmic abilities, as she can effortlessly lift the Stormbreaker and wields it in battle, and shoot destructive energy beam. Love is a character who has immense potential, and can be a great addition to the Avengers squad in the future, as Thor will likely return in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

#9. Clea

Many were excited to see Charlize Theron appearing as Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after-credit scene. She came to warn the former Supreme Sorcerer that he had caused a multiverse incursion, before heading with him into a portal to the Dark Dimension to fix it. Clea might return and have a more prominent role in Doctor Strange 3, but Marvel Studios haven’t released any statement about the threequel yet, so we’ll have to wait a while to see the sorceress on the big screen again. Avengers: Secret Wars is another good chance for her and Strange to return.

#10. Phyla

Both Phyla and Adam Warlock are a part of the new Guardians of the Galaxy team after Star-lord and some veteran members retired, but while the latter already has his path set for the next Avengers movie, Phyla’s future is still shrouded in mystery. Marvel Studios haven’t made any plan for a potential Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 so far, so we’re not sure if the young lady will be back to showcase her powers. However, Phyla-Vell is a very important Marvel Comics character, so it would be a waste for the studio to not develop her even further.
