As a child, we claim that Movies are filled with two key ingredients: protagonist and antagonist. It’s actually a very simplistic view. Protagonists would always be righteous and good while characters who are against protagonists are always bad and have pure evil in their hearts.
After growing up, we realized that such things are not always black and white. It means that there are no clear-cut boundaries. Some characters are called “bad guys" but they don’t have bad ideas actually. Sometimes, we need to look at the story from a different perspective to realize that they aren’t bad after all. Some characters are not pure evil but merely misunderstood or victims of certain unfortunate misadventures. Those deserved to receive some mental health support or someone’s help instead of having a sad ending.

#1 Gorr, Thor: Love and Thunder

It is not fair to say that Gorr, played by Christian Bale, is a villain. He used to respect the gods and everything just changed when they refused to save his dying daughter.

#2 Meredith Blake, The Parent Trap

The Parent Trap starred Elaine Hendrix as the evil bride of the main's character father but the actress always knew her character Meredith was not the villain. She shared a short video on Tik Tok, showing that Meredith’s fiancé is a red flag who lied about everything to her. “He’s a 10, but he had twins he secretly separated at birth when he broke up with their mother and didn’t tell you about it until the twins discovered each other at camp and swapped places to try and get their parents back together.”

#3 Amy Dunne, Gone Girl

The thing that create a complex and ambiguous character, Amy Dunne, is her husband, Nick Dunne. Forcibly her to move to his hometown where she didn't known anyone could make her get on well with others. Moreover, he cheated on her with younger women. When knowing his betrayal, Amy stopped being a cool girl and was really to do anything to take revenge on her husband.

#4 Vulture, Spider-Man: Homecoming

After his company went bankrupt, Adrian Toomes took the wrong path as Vulture. It was because he needed to provide for his family. Мichael Кeaton, who portrayed Toomes, doesn't think he's a pure bad guy. “He’s a really interesting — and more interesting than I thought — villain because there are parts of him that you go, ‘You know what? I might see his point.’ Really, really. It makes it interesting to play.”

#5 Stepmother, Cinderella

After the death of her first husband, Lady Tremaine got married for the money. The second husband never stopped missing his first wife and spent all his free time with his daughter. For that, after he passed away,  the stepmother didn't treat Cinderella well.

Victor Frankenstein thought he is God and creates a monster. That made him so scared and started abandoning the monster. During the journey of looking for the parent, the Monster made a lot of mistakes. People repelled him while he suffered from loneliness. For these reasons, he began a war against humanity.

#8 Dr. Curt Connors, Spider-Man: No Way Home

Connors was a scientist pursuing a good cause that find a serum to grow a missing arm. But on the way to find it, he got an uncontrollable alter-ego – an aggressive lizard. Many hope that Spider-man could help him instead of beating him.

Cheryl Blossom first appeared as a rich and spoiled girl. It turned out that her family made her like that. Later, she showed her better side and became an alley of the main character.

#10 Alex Forrest, Fatal Attraction

Glenn Close, who played Alex Forrest, insists that her character is just a deeply disturbed woman, not actually a villain. According to the actress, the creators made her look like a psychopath murderer. “It’s so easy to make people who probably have one mental disorder diagnosis the antagonist, to make them the bad people. And it just feeds into the stigma.”

The movie portrays a complicated love triangle. In the beginning, Simon is dating Jacqueline, and they are going to get married. But when Linnet appears, Simon becomes her husband. This marriage turned out to be a smart manipulation of Jacqueline and Simon. But Linnet and Jacqueline were friends for years so stealing Jacqueline’s fiancé means that she betrayed her.
