10 Celebrities Who Are Fed Up With Toxic Diet Culture And Say “F**k It”

This toxic diet culture has made us suffer for way too long. It knows that we are obsessed with our weights and will try anything to look as skinny as possible. It plays into our weaknesses and told us this food is bad and that food is not, we should eat this and shouldn’t eat that. The truth is everybody is different and nutrients are so much more complicated than that. Eating is never a shameful act, and never will be.
Food should nurture your body and it should be one of life’s greatest pleasures, not a source of untold stress. Sadly, the toxic diet culture and the unrealistic beauty standards that society forced upon us are making us afraid of food. Eating is no longer an enjoyable time for many of us, but rather just meals to pass by. Lucky for us, many brave celebrities have had enough of this toxic diet culture and decided to slam it down.

1. Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence hated the idea that people had to lose weight to fit into society’s beauty standards. She thinks that people should be comfortable with their bodies and accept their flaws, not going hungry every day to make other people happy. The actress also criticized shows like Fashion Police which make women feel insecure about their bodies.
“It’s disappointing that the media keeps these unrealistic expectations for women alive and fuels that fire. It’s something that really bothers me," Jennifer said. She also admitted that she only tried to lose weight once during her time with the 2018 movie Red Sparrow. After that the actress quickly realized dieting wasn’t for her, saying “I can’t work on a diet. I’m hungry. I have my feet on the ground. I need more energy.”

2. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is a victim of eating disorders for a long time. Fortunately, she is recovering from her hard time and she is unafraid to expose the dark side of the Hollywood diet game. The singer admitted that she gained a few pounds since she gave up dieting, but she lost her chronic stress about what she ate. "No longer depriving myself of treats (in moderation),” she tweeted, “No more food shaming myself!!”

3. Lili Reinhart

Lili Reinhart is another hardcore anti-fan of the toxic diet culture. She hated the unrealistic beauty standards and uses her Instagram stories to call out celebrities who promote unhealthy ideas about how bodies should look and how people should eat.
Reinhart criticized Kim Kardashian for her extreme diet to fit into her Met Gala gown. She thought that losing 16 pounds in a matter of weeks like what Kim did was "so wrong" and "f*cked on 100s of levels."

4. Rihanna

Rihanna didn’t care what other people had to say about her body. She wasn’t trying to get the body of a Victoria's Secret model and she was 100% happy with how she was. Rihanna believed that people are beautiful no matter their shape or size.
The singer told young people that they shouldn’t be pressured into trying to be thin by the fashion industry because the industry only wanted human mannequins. “You have to remember that it’s not practical or possible for an everyday woman to look like that...It’s not realistic, and it’s not healthy," Rihanna told You magazine.

5. Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner went the extra mile to slam the toxic diet culture by making a parody video mocking all the influencers who promote weight loss products. Seriously, she’s a queen.
"Today, I just wanted to promote this new powdered stuff that you put in your tea, and basically it makes you shit your brains out, and is totally real, really bad for me to be promoting to young women and young people everywhere but I don't really give a f*ck because I'm getting paid money for it,” Sophie said in the video.

Chrissy Teigen stopped dieting for good when she realized it was ruining her mental health. She has learned to appreciate more important aspects of her life, which were her health and her family. “I've spent way too many years counting calories, scheduling way too many workouts, and trying to figure out what my term for wellness was for myself. I've been trying to figure that out for so so long," Chrissy shared with People.

Lizzo is the queen of body positivity. She loves all sizes and shapes and always encourages people to do the same. She tells her fans to never be ashamed of their bodies and often criticized how society gives us a lot of self-loathing and delusional. “Your body is perfect for you, even if no one else thinks it is. If you knew how many different parts your body has, you’d be so proud of it. I am so happy for you,” she said.

8. Gigi Hadid

It might be hard to believe that one of the most successful models in the industry has insecurities about her looks, but Gigi Hadid used to be body-shamed too. She refused to be let down by the criticism and didn’t let having Hashimoto’s disease make her feel bad. Once in a while, she will have a burger to keep her happy.
The supermodel claimed to be happy with her body before and her body now. She said, “Whoever is reading this, I want you to know that in three years, you will look at a picture from this time and think, “Wow, I was so hot.” Why did that stupid thing someone said make me feel so bad about myself?’”

9. Adele

Similarly to Gigi, Adele also loves her body from before and her body after her weight loss. The famous singer said that she worked out not to lose weight but to deal with her anxiety after her divorce. Exercising was a good therapy for her.
She shared in an interview, saying “It was never about losing weight. I thought, ‘If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong.'”

10. Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst doesn’t tolerate any of the bullshit that producers might say about her body. For her role in The Beguiled, director Sofia Coppola suggested that Dunst should lose weight but she firmly shut him down. The actress wanted to have fun and the movie was shot in Louisiana, where she could get all her favorite fried foods, like beignets, king cake, fried chicken, etc.
So not only did she tell Coppola no, but she also told him that she was gonna eat fried chicken and McDonald's before she went to work. “I’m sorry, I can’t lose weight for this role,” Dunst said. Coppola respected her choice and never mention the weight loss deal again.
Those are what these amazing stars have to say about the toxic diet culture that society forced upon us. Do you agree with them? Speaking of foods, there are some weird foods that celebrities love but you might have to pass. Do you have the guts to check them out?
