10 Celebrities Who Are Fed Up With Toxic Diet Culture And Say “F**k It”
This toxic diet culture has made us suffer for way too long. It knows that we are obsessed with our weights and will try anything to look as skinny as possible. It plays into our weaknesses and told us this food is bad and that food is not, we should eat this and shouldn’t eat that. The truth is everybody is different and nutrients are so much more complicated than that. Eating is never a shameful act, and never will be.
Food should nurture your body and it should be one of life’s greatest pleasures, not a source of untold stress. Sadly, the toxic diet culture and the unrealistic beauty standards that society forced upon us are making us afraid of food. Eating is no longer an enjoyable time for many of us, but rather just meals to pass by. Lucky for us, many brave celebrities have had enough of this toxic diet culture and decided to slam it down.
“It’s disappointing that the media keeps these unrealistic expectations for women alive and fuels that fire. It’s something that really bothers me," Jennifer said. She also admitted that she only tried to lose weight once during her time with the 2018 movie Red Sparrow. After that the actress quickly realized dieting wasn’t for her, saying “I can’t work on a diet. I’m hungry. I have my feet on the ground. I need more energy.”
Reinhart criticized Kim Kardashian for her extreme diet to fit into her Met Gala gown. She thought that losing 16 pounds in a matter of weeks like what Kim did was "so wrong" and "f*cked on 100s of levels."
The singer told young people that they shouldn’t be pressured into trying to be thin by the fashion industry because the industry only wanted human mannequins. “You have to remember that it’s not practical or possible for an everyday woman to look like that...It’s not realistic, and it’s not healthy," Rihanna told You magazine.
"Today, I just wanted to promote this new powdered stuff that you put in your tea, and basically it makes you shit your brains out, and is totally real, really bad for me to be promoting to young women and young people everywhere but I don't really give a f*ck because I'm getting paid money for it,” Sophie said in the video.
The supermodel claimed to be happy with her body before and her body now. She said, “Whoever is reading this, I want you to know that in three years, you will look at a picture from this time and think, “Wow, I was so hot.” Why did that stupid thing someone said make me feel so bad about myself?’”
She shared in an interview, saying “It was never about losing weight. I thought, ‘If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong.'”
So not only did she tell Coppola no, but she also told him that she was gonna eat fried chicken and McDonald's before she went to work. “I’m sorry, I can’t lose weight for this role,” Dunst said. Coppola respected her choice and never mention the weight loss deal again.
Those are what these amazing stars have to say about the toxic diet culture that society forced upon us. Do you agree with them? Speaking of foods, there are some weird foods that celebrities love but you might have to pass. Do you have the guts to check them out?
