Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: Fully Explained

Searching for Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 recap? Here we go! When is a group of dead buffalo calves something other than a group of dead buffalo calves? The discovery of a brucellosis epidemic in Yellowstone prompts rancher John to ship half of his cattle to Texas, where Rip, Ryan, Walker, Teeter, and Jake will closely check on them. Was Beth happy by the news?

In "The Dream Is Not Me," we see Jamie deeper trapped in Sarah's web as a flashback depicts a younger Rip fatally stabbing Rowdy during a fistfight over Beth. He stated that "the only thing I ever loved" was Yellowstone. (That settles it, then, about his son.) If he had asked Sarah for help, she might be able to rescue it. Back at the ranch, Monica noticed that Beth had aimed her barbs at Summer, Laramie, and Abby but not at her.
Having lost a child, Monica did not want to be treated differently. But Beth defended her right to special treatment, telling her sister-in-law that she understood the pain of abandonment all too well. And she continued to experience those feelings daily. Monica suggested that maybe Beth was so cold because she was hiding a terrible secret from her, but Beth just shrugged it off. She said, "Before it happened, I was a real f—king bitch." 'You are quite excellent at it,' Monica said. Amazing stuff, well worth the cost.

Lynelle informed Chairman Rainwater at a meeting that the Department of the Interior had given its blessing to constructing two pipelines that would pass through the reservation and right beneath the reservoir. She was giving him this information in advance of an official announcement, with the expectation that he would be able to raise enough of a stink to get the project relocated. She was ready to support him at a news conference, but she couldn't promise that John would do the same.
Thomas suggested that in that case, she might want to remind him that he is also the governor of the Native Americans. As John explained their position to Beth back at the ranch, Beth's heart rate and blood pressure skyrocketed. His model, he claimed, had been successful for centuries. Is that why there weren't any other ranches in the area? No. Everything else was already empty. She observed, "People don't sell enterprises that earn money; they sell the losers." She could as well have been chatting with a bovine, of course.
Jamie's secretary, who is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters, forewarned him about his new lover before a surprise meeting with Sarah and Ellis. That's because "women know women," as she put it. "Men can deduce what a woman would like them to know." If only Jamie's sex coma wasn't so thick that she could hear us! Upon hearing from the tag team at Market Equities that John had placed the ranch in a conservation easement, he decided to put in a conservation easement himself. Jamie could, in theory, override the decision, but then they'd have to fight environmental groups' legal defense funding.

There was a real risk that Market Equities would sue the state of Montana for bad faith negotiations, which may lead to the state's financial collapse. Unless… Hmm. Sarah purred that what John did "seems like an impeachable offense to me." If John resigned or were removed, a special election would be called, and ME would work to ensure Jamie won. She urged him to address the crowd. Raise charges against John "and get our f—king land back."
Even before Beth learned that Rip was being transferred to Texas for a year, she called the Four Sixes and acquired enough information about its business model to formulate a plan to save Yellowstone while John took the whole ranch to the county fair. Tate at the fair seemed to be becoming friends with Carter, and Kayce and Monica were amazed that they had "reached the stage where we're just a bank and a taxi" to him.
Colby triumphantly presented Teeter with a stuffed animal "bar." And Beth, hearing the news from Rip, volunteered that she would accompany him. In any case, we committed to a lifetime of love and companionship by making that vow. She would book a suite at the closest Hyatt to visit him for Happy Hours and drive there. While Ryan might have been willing to do so, Abby had no intention of doing so. She told him, "I understand you're chasing a dream, and I hope you catch it." Just for a moment, I want to be in that dream. John hid his kiss from Summer behind his hat so no one would see them together as Clara kissed behind them. Nobody knew that at that same moment, Jamie was writing a speech in which he would publicly demand John's impeachment.
