In this episode, Tika tribe celebrates that they don't have to go to Tribal Council since Matthew left the show due to his shoulder. In the following challenge, the three tribes Tika, Soka, and Ratu are merged together. Carson reveals to some tribe members that he got an immunity idol in the previous episode, which is no longer powerful, and Lauren confesses about her extra vote. When the boat arrives at Ratu’s beach, Josh warns his former tribe members about Yam Yam and Carolyn, and he lies about having Soka’s immunity idol.
Jaime, who thinks she has the real idol, doesn't believe Josh when he tells her it is fake. Later, Carson, Carolyn, and Yam Yam plan to work together, but they keep it secret from the other players. Yam Yam fears he is in danger, but Matt confesses that the plan is to get Josh out. Meanwhile, Frannie and Matt agree to downplay their connection.
In summary, Tika celebrates not going to Tribal Council, and the three tribes merge together. At camp, Yam Yam is feeling the pressure, knowing that Josh is campaigning against him. He talks to Carolyn and Matt, who assures him that they have his back and that the plan is to vote out Josh. Frannie and Jaime join in, and they all agree to stick together to vote Josh out. Meanwhile, Josh continues to campaign to Heidi and Lauren to vote out Yam Yam. He tells them that Yam Yam is a big threat and that he's not trustworthy. Heidi and Lauren seem to be considering his pitch.
At Tribal Council, Jeff Probst asks the castaways about the immunity challenge, and they discuss how challenging it was to push the boulder and climb the tower. Jeff then asks about the dynamics at camp, and Yam Yam admits that he feels like he's in trouble. Josh tries to defend himself, but the other castaways call him out for being untrustworthy.
The six losers returned to camp and realized the next Tribal Council would be a battle between Yam Yam and Josh. But they were worried that Josh had an idol, even though Carolyn told them it was fake. When Josh heard that Kane's name was thrown out, he tried to make peace with Yam Yam, but they still wanted to write his name down.

When it's time to vote, the castaways cast their ballots, and Jeff tallies the votes. Before revealing the results, Jeff asks if anyone wants to play an idol. Josh hesitates but ultimately decides not to play his fake idol. Jeff reads the votes, and in a vote of 7-5, Josh is voted out of Survivor 44 Episode 6. As Josh heads out, he wishes the remaining castaways luck and warns them that Yam Yam is still a big threat. The rest of the castaways celebrate their victory and prepare for the upcoming merge.
Fun fact, Josh is the first man voted out of Survivor 44, as both Bruce Perreault and Matthew were medevacked. We found out at the end of the program that Josh, Brandon, and Kane voted for Yam Yam, while Carolyn voted for Kane. It was definitely a tense episode with a lot of scrambling and strategizing.
