Whenever you immerse yourself in a forest of green leafy trees, your energy is filled, and you’ll feel as right as rain in no time.

The whole body of this bird is in the green shade, except for the orange tiny tufts and gray feathers behind its eyes. Unlike other birds, male and female Glistening Green Tanagers look alike, with the female’s shade a bit paler.
As the name refers, this species of tanager glistens even among other green shades of nature. Apparently, you can’t take your eyes off their plumage fluorescent green!

These birds don’t need a colorful combination to shine since their neon green feathers are enough to make them stick out. The Glistening Green Tanager looks so green that their photos seem to go through photoshop edit.
Besides their glowy appearance, you can realize them by their wheezy and lispy calls. In some regions, such as Ecuador, these birds generate complicated songs with a wide range of pitches and notes.

You could see them alone or in pairs joining mixed-species flocks to go through the forest while looking for food, including both fruits and insects. In fact, these particular tanagers seem to prefer insects to berries. They often hang upside down like bats and pick insects from the leaves' undersides.

Glistening Green Tanagers’ population is currently stable, and let’s hope they won’t face any grave threat in the future.
