Jared Leto Is In ‘Tron 3', Third Second Sequel After The Original In Over 30 Year

After the initial Tron, it took 28 years to release Tron: Legacy. For a Tron 3 to just take 13 to 15 years is almost nothing!
nullA third Tron movie, which fans have been clamoring for since 2010, may finally be coming true. The project, which has been hinted at continuously since Tron: Legacy was launched, appears to be finally coming together. Director of Tron: Legacy and Top Gun: Maverick Joseph Kosinski worked on a sequel to his own picture for a time before actor Jared Leto, who is said to be a fan of Tron, became involved. But despite all that development work, there haven't been any new Trons to show for it yet.
Disney is reported to be "back on track for a third Tron," according to Variety. Leto is still set to star, but Joachim Rønning, the director of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, will take over from Kosinski this time.
In 2022, Kosinski said that the failure of his intended Tron 3 was due to Disney's fixation on the huge properties they had acquired following Tron: Legacy, particularly Star Wars and Marvel. When you have those covered, Kosinski said, "it makes sense to invest your money into a recognized property rather than the odd art student in the corner with black fingernails—that was Tron. Leto last spoke about the project in March 2022, when he stated that it was "coming closer and closer" and even offered a possible title: Tron: Ares.null
Although there is no formal release date for the movie just yet, Disney has other justifications for picking up the brand again given that it has been dormant for so long: It is the basis for their brand-new attraction at Walt Disney World. The cars on the rollercoaster Tron: Lightcycle Run are made to resemble the film's iconic vehicles. On April 4, 2023, the coaster debuts in Florida. A new Tron film would be the ideal example of corporate harmony.
