How Adele Conquer The World

The official Adele website says the new Weekends With Adele dates will run from June 16 to November 4. This is her first concert residency, held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

In her 35 years, it’s fair to say that Adele deserves to become one of the most popular singers of all time. With her extraordinary voice and bubbly personality, she gained international recognition from her first album.

The singer is also one of the best-selling music artists, with sales of over 100 million albums worldwide, and was named the best-selling female artist of the 21st century in the UK. Throughout her career, she won numerous prestigious awards such as Grammy Award, Brit Award, Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and so on.

Adele had become a mother in 2012 and had been off the charts since. However, she returned to the charts in 2015 with the ballad "Hello," the lead song from what was considered her comeback album 25. Her efforts on 25, which included album, record, and song of the year nominations, earned her five Grammy awards in 2017.

Her next two albums 25 and 30 became the years’ best-selling ones worldwide including the US and UK in 2015 and 2021 respectively. Except 19, all of her studio albums topped the yearly best-selling albums chart worldwide more than any artist in the 21 century as of 2023.

Rolling Stone ranked her 22nd in their list of 200 Greatest Singers of All Time (2023). Recently, the annual Sunday Times Rich List named Adele as one of the richest Brits under the age of 35.

Adela becomes a style icon

Adela first appeared on the red carpet of the 2008 Brit Awards in London. She was considered the number-one predicted breakthrough act of that year with her songs reaching the top position in music charts. Magazines wrote about her saying, “Adele truly has the potential to become among the most respected and inspiring international artists among her generation.”

In 2009, she accepted an invitation to participate in a photo shoot for Vogue magazine in 2009. She later remarked, " It was just like The Devil Wears Prada." However, Anna Wintour assisted her and made lovely outfit selections from well-known fashion houses.

For her look at The Grammy Awards, she asked the help of many people including stylists, makeup artists, and hairstylists. She looked pretty in a custom black satin cocktail frock by Barbara Tfank. Before the event, Adele laughed, “I’ll go proper glam.”

In the 2012 Grammys, the singer appeared wearing a custom black, sparkly Giorgio Armani floor-length gown with three-quarter-length sleeves. It was the first time she showed up with her hair bright blonde. She would remain blonde for many more years.

One of her boldest is her look at the 2013 Grammys. She donned a colorful outfit instead of her usual black. Critics described the Valentino couture floral embroidered gown with long sleeves and a collar as ugly and carpet-like. The shoes were also of the same color.

She shocks people by her physical transformations

The singer lost nearly 100 pounds in 2020, and tabloids frequently covered her changes in appearance. She did, however, lose weight for other reasons besides achieving a slender physique. Following her divorce from her spouse, Simon Konecki, Adele was able to manage her anxiety episodes at the gym.

For years, people associated Adele with body positivity. She got a lot of negative messages after losing weight because her fans felt she had let them down. The singer responded by saying that people shouldn't look up to her as a role model. “I was body positive then and I’m body positive now,” she said.
