Harmful Gender Stereotypes From Disney Books Are Outdated By A Dad

For most of us, Disney stories have played a big part in our childhoods. However, some people believe these stories have a negative effect on children, especially young girls because they include harmful gender stereotypes. In an effort to make life better for his daughter, a father is going viral on TikTok for removing all of the "gender stereotypes" in her Disney books.
The Minnesota-based father, who goes by the handle @dcaspers on Tiktok, used his graphic editing abilities to change the plots of many Disney books. Explaining that he wanted to "teach his daughter not to settle for the stereotypes" found in the books, he changed the endings of princess stories, often writing characters leaving their princes to follow their dreams.
For example, in the "Princess and the Frog" book, Tianna made Naveen a cake. However, the father changed things since he believed she shouldn't have to prepare meals for her prince. Originally, the page wrote, "What does Tianna love more than baking? Sharing her treats with Prince Naveen!" But in his revised version, Tianna made nachos instead and didn't share them. "Excuse me, Prince Naveen. These nachos are just for me."
The adoring father recorded the entire process and posted it on TikTok. His videos quickly amassed millions of views and thousands of comments and sparked fierce debate among users. Some are praising him as a progressive “Fairy Godfather” of sorts, while others think he just ruined their beloved Disney classics. Let's see Harmful gender stereotypes from Disney books.
