Gabriella saw her father talking to the boat's owner and tried to tell him that he was better than this. He ended up telling her that he was working to get out of debt and needed the extra money. It’s probably that we can lose any main characters at any time during the series. At this point, the people whom we needed to worry about are Eve Edwards and Rebecca Lee. They have been put in a dangerous situation where the tree collapsed on Eve. The location is extremely hard to discover so the rescue crew took a super long time to arrive. The helicopter struggled to get low enough among the treetops.
Rebecca was bleeding internally after trying to rescue Eve, so Bode radioed for assistance. Sharon was postponing her operation in order to coordinate a rescue squad for Bode. The helicopter was unable to land because the trees were in the way. Rebecca realized she could die and handed over her case to the Innocent Project. She hoped he'd have another chance to argue his case.
