“I Don’t Want To Sleep With Anybody Anymore”: Why Linda Evangelista Is Over Dating

In the '80s and '90s, Linda Evangelista was the rockstar of modeling. This Canadian beauty was not just walking runways; she was the muse for big names like Versace and Lagerfeld. 

It was notable that at age 22, she married Gerald Marie, a French modeling-agency big shot 15 years her senior, in 1987. They seemed like the ultimate power couple - the world's supermodel, and the big boss in the modeling biz. But by 1993, the couple called it quits.

Linda Evangelista and Fabien Barthez, the renowned French racing driver and ex-soccer goalkeeper, had an on-and-off relationship. In 1999, tragedy struck when Evangelista experienced the heartbreak of a stillborn child at six months. Despite this, she found strength in returning to the modeling scene at 36, defying age norms by gracing magazine covers and walking runways for top fashion houses.

In her romantic journey, Linda Evangelista acknowledges making a few mistakes but feels blessed in love. Despite her great relationship, Linda recognizes that not all relationships are meant to last forever. Embracing solitude, she highlights the incredible moments that come with being alone, emphasizing that great things happen during those times. She said, “Initially you don’t think so. But great things happen when you’re alone.”

Unlike complicated custody arrangements, Linda Evangelista spends holidays uniquely with her blended family, including her step motherly relationship with Salma Hayek. Recalling a sweet memory, she shared a past Thanksgiving when she was sick, and Salma, along with her daughter, flew in to make dinner. She said, “I was sick at Thanksgiving and Salma got on the plane with her daughter, came here, and made Thanksgiving dinner.”

Before Augie, Evangelista was certain she'd have children in her life. Then, she embraced motherhood, leaving the runway for strollers. By 2013, she declared, “Motherhood is everything to me now. It’s the best. I’m so fulfilled.”

While Evangelista shielded Augie from the public eye as a kid, now that he's a teenager, she shares occasional glimpses. Augie isn't active on social media and doesn't have public accounts, so you won't see him frequently on his mom's Instagram.

In 2022, Augie joined his mom at a Fendi fashion show and the second annual Caring for Women Dinner. They wore matching black suits, walking hand in hand on the red carpet. For Augie's 16th birthday, Evangelista shared a sweet Instagram post with pictures of their journey, captioned “My heart. My light."

Evangelista dreamt of a family that shared meaningful conversations and delightful meals around the dinner table, and with Augie, that dream has come true. Reflecting on her childhood, Evangelista noted her father's preference for quiet meals after a noisy workday. Now a single mother, she finds contentment in the simplicity of her family with Augie, stating, “I am a single mother with a child—but that’s all you need to make a family, two people.”

The fashion model, 58, stated that she has no intention to start dating again anytime soon. She straightforwardly expressed her disinterest in exploring new relationships, stating, “I’m not interested.” She further explained her specific aversion to sharing a bed with someone, saying, “I don’t want to sleep with anybody anymore. I don’t want to hear somebody breathing.”

She shared insights into her past experiences, disclosing that her last attempt at dating happened “definitely before the Cool-Sculpting.” She referred to a cosmetic procedure for fat reduction, detailing that the sessions, conducted from August 2015 to February 2016, had unfavorable outcomes. Linda expressed feeling “permanently deformed” and “brutally dispd” as a result of the procedure.
