Tom Holland Reveals Positive News About Spider-Man 4’s Production Amid WGA Strike

After the recent success of MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, which gains positive reviews from both fans and critics alike, a new sequel for the Web-Slinger is already underway. Breaking the usual pattern of releasing each sequel 2 years after the last, the movie we temporarily call Spider-Man 4 is yet to have an official premiere date, and the casting choices are still clouded in mystery. However, with the recent updates by Sony’s veteran producer Amy Pascal, and from the actor who plays Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, we can cross our fingers that the day we’ll see Spidey reappear on the big screen is not so far away.

Quite recently, during his interview with Inverse, Holland once again brought some good news regarding the progress of Spider-Man 4. The actor also shared his thoughts on Miles Morales, the new Wall Crawler in town, and his live-action debut on the big screen, as confirmed by Pascal the other day.

#1. “It’s looking pretty good.” Said Holland about the new Spider-Man movie.

The London native has been eager to share about the untitled Spider-Man 4 for a while, and in his most recent disclosure with Inverse, he confirms that there’s “some stuff going on” with the movie. "Whether or not it'll come to fruition, who knows? But right now, it's looking pretty good, and we'll just have to wait and see." Said the actor, as he also added that he’s excited about what Marvel has in store.

This comes as wonderful news for fans. As we know, the progress was temporarily halted to support the striking WGA writers with no exact return date, so to hear the project somewhat back in progress is enough to make the audience jubilant.

#2. He also spoke of Miles Morales’s live-action debut.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a box office hit, and the imminent success of the animated movie is quickly followed up by the third part in March 2024, and of course, a Miles Morales live-action movie, as revealed by producer Amy Pascal. There’s no confirmation yet about if the film is part of the MCU or Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, though, but Tom Holland seems motivated about Miles’s debut, even stating that he’d be more than happy to guide the new Spidey on his superhero path.

"I would be honored to bring Miles Morales into the live-action world. How we do that, I don't know, but given the opportunity, I would jump at it." Said the British actor. This is a wonderful take by Holland, as fans would pay to see two Spider-Men teaming up on the big screen to defeat bad guys. This scenario might come to fruition eventually, as Miles’s appearance in the MCU has already been teased in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

#3. Tom Holland will star as Peter Parker once again, under one condition.

When asked about his future in the MCU in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the 27 years old celebrity revealed the requirement for him to return as the Wall-Crawler. And it’s a hard one at that, as the studio must find a way to “compete with the third one”, which means Spider-Man 4 should at least be on par with No Way Home level to please Holland. It’s a pretty high stake to beat, considering No Way Home is arguably the best part of Spidey’s trilogy in the MCU.

#4. When will Spider-Man 4 be released?

As mentioned above, there is no exact confirmation so far from Marvel for the release date of Spider-Man 4. The film’s plot and casting also remained in secret, but there are many wild fan theories about the movie popping up on the internet already. Some of them mention Peter’s best friend Ned as the next supervillain, while others suggest Miles’s unexpected appearance at the end to continue Peter’s legacy.
