These Hotel Staff Witnessed The 17 Weirdest Things Ever Left By Guests

Carolyn Mullet

Thanks to room service departments in every hotel, we can travel on a long trip away and enjoy our holidays. We all know that hotels have their stipulations for things not allowed, such as some don't let pets check-in in or don't agree to let guests bring alcohol, foods with irritating scents, weapons, et cetera. Besides, we are expected to follow etiquette when renting hotel rooms.
Before guests check out, hotel staff will look around the room and make sure whether any supplementary fees are needed. After that, they will clean, tidy, sterilize, and rearrange objects to welcome new guests. Hotel workers often find bizarre things left in the rooms. A few weird ones even scare them for the rest of their life.
What is the weirdest thing cleaners have found in a [guest's] room? From bees to false teeth, keep scrolling to check out the ones that raise the most questions!

#3. Bugs

"Three guys in one room left ALL their windows open and all the lights on overnight in the summer. I have never seen so many different bugs flying around a room — it was terrifying. We ran in spraying bug killer like our lives depended on it, then ran out and left the room for an hour. We came back to a floor that was almost black with dead bugs. I can still hear the crunching."

#4. Ducklings

“Ducklings. The guest said the mother duck had died so she had started looking after the ducklings herself. We found them in the lodge bathroom. After that, they were kept in someone’s office until the right people came to collect them.” - a Reddit user

#5. A prosthetic limb

“Yes, a left foot was left under a bed. (How did the guest forget that??) This was in London. I called the front desk. A security person came and put it in a large garbage bag, as he did not want to leave the room with a body part. I must say, it still bothers me to this day.”—Jim Angelton

#6. A presidential pet

“A goat dressed like Abraham Lincoln. There’s no more story here, at least none that I know. Working as a cleaner in a hotel, went to clean a guest’s room, dreading it since they’d been there for a stag do, and found the goat. Don’t know how it got there, or how it was removed, but it made a good story for a while.”—Reddit user bluepaul

#7. A glass eye

“An environmental services team member found it in a glass of water. There was a man with an eyepatch who came in after he realized he had lost it and asked if we found it. They had all the proof they needed to give it back to him.”—Jessica Newton, media and public relations specialist at Pechanga Resort & Casino

#8. A mysterious magician’s box

“As we entered our room, we found the luggage rack expanded next to the bed, with a black magician’s box sitting on top. It had a magician’s business card slipped into a slot on the front, and a combination lock, which was locked. The box was the exact size of a human head. (Full disclosure: I’m not actually positive it was a head in a box, but it totally could have been!) We called the front desk, and they sent security. The guard said he had no idea why it had been left in the room, and promptly removed it. We never did find out what was inside. I still say it was body parts. Why else would a magician leave his box behind?!”—Jennifer Campana

#9. Bees and beehives

“Bees and bee c**p literally covering every single spot in the place. The guy was a beekeeper and was delivering a hive. He brought it into the room, where the hive tipped over and broke. It took days of scrubbing with some harsh chemicals to get the poo off. Even had to repaint walls” - ReleaseThat2638

“Broccoli and spinach in the shower on two separate occasions. THREE jars of mustard on the bedside table (this was in a suite that had a full kitchen and separate bedroom.. no logical reason why the mustard would be in the bedroom).” - ritmoautunno

#13. Too much to bear

Source: CNN (photo for illustration)

"A bear. A lot had to happen for this to occur. A guest unloaded his motorcycle from his truck and left the ramp down. This was right outside a first-floor room with a balcony. The guest that was staying in said room had ordered room service, left it uncovered, left the balcony door open, and went to the pool. The guest returned to their room, then promptly went down to reception and reported there was a bear in their room. " - u/little_asian_man_89

#14. Mr. Sheen

"One day we got a call to move a guest out of his room. I went up to the room, knocked on the door, and when I opened it, the guest has spray-painted the entire room gold. He said it was 24-karat gold because he stayed in hotels in Saudi Arabia that were solid gold. So he wanted to make his room look like that. He sprays painted the bed sheets, light bulbs, bathroom, everything in that room was gold." - randylikecandy

#15. Please tell us it wasn't lightly salted

#16.

A pile of human skin, on the floor beside the bed. It was like sunburned skin peelings or something. Truly disgusting.

#17.

This guest left his mom a disabled elderly woman in her room for 2 days, she was unclothed, with a colonoscopy bag and catheter bag full to the max. This woman had not eaten in 2 days and could have died if we did not do a life and safety check when the bill was not paid for a 1 nighter. We eventually located her son, who tried to dump her in the hotel so he could go on a bender.
