It didn't take long for the villagers to realize that it was a baby Muntjac deer.
When the baby deer was noticed by villagers, he was chased by a pack of street dogs. The street dogs seemed curious and perhaps didn't understand why the little deer cried, so they decided to run after this little new friend. But somehow, this made the little deer extremely terrified.
About the Muntjac deer, when facing a pack of scary dogs, he exhibited his instinctual survival skills and barked to ward off these potential threats. It was actually an act that Muntjac deer typically resort to when they sense predators nearby.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the villagers reached out to the animal shelter for help.

The compassionate team at Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) quickly responded to the call and set out to rescue the stranded fawn. They found the baby deer, later affectionately named Cha Lao, on the brink of exhaustion. Immediately, they brought him to their wildlife hospital for better treatment.
Gradually, under the care of the skilled specialists at WFFT, Cha Lao received the attention he needed to flourish. He was bottle-fed and nurtured, allowing him to regain his strength and composure. In no time, the transformation in Cha Lao was evident and he became noticeably more at ease in his newfound environment.
At present, Cha Lao is doing well under the loving care of his rescuers.

His daily routines now include leisurely strolls around the vet clinic to help him regain his strength. Though he may still be a little unsteady on his feet, his progress is remarkable, and he's rapidly evolving into a fearless explorer of his surroundings.
“The deer is also having daily exercise including short walks around the vet clinic. He is a little wobbly on his feet but he is brave and keen to explore.” shared WFFT in a post on their website.
