Pregnant Stray Cat Follows A Strange Woman Home, And It's The Best Decision She Ever Made

How much interaction is necessary to determine whether someone is a decent person or not? You know, it's challenging for us to accurately assess a person's traits based only on appearance. Cats, however, can be. Because they are so delicate and sensitive, they can quickly identify a good master. Like this following cat, who was starving and in need of shelter right away but has chosen to wait for the right master to follow.
A pregnant stray cat is seen at an apartment in November 2022, seeking someone to take care of her. She typically avoided eye contact with strangers, but her expanding body was in need of food and shelter.
Then one day she saw someone who immediately made her feel protected. Despite never having met the woman before, she felt compelled to follow her home.

"A stray cat followed me from the parking lot to my apartment," Jessica Elaine wrote in a TikTok. "She looked pregnant [and] waddled right up the stairs to me. She [definitely] picked the right person because I keep lots of tasty cat treats around."

Sally is the name Jessica gave the kitten. Jessica had her own cats at home, so she was hesitant to let Sally immediately move inside the house. She was afraid that the little feline might be scared by her cats. Hence, she provided a tuna can for Sally outside the door.
The following evening, Jessica was excited when Sally paid her another visit to her apartment. When the kitty arrived, she happily discovered an amazing box filled with towels that Jessica had made particularly for her. The pregnant cat excitedly climbed into her pleasant new home and settled in comfortably.
"She loved it," Jessica wrote on TikTok.

Over the following few days, Jessica worked to gain Sally's confidence. After many tuna cans and a few quiet nights in her shelter, Sally began to feel better. She was already at ease as Jessica petted her, but she finally wanted to get closer to her rescuer. A week after Jessica first saw Sally, the adorable cat decided to approach her and jump into her lap. She slid between Jessica's knees and started purring.
"The first time she climbed into my lap, I almost cried," Jessica said. "It really felt like we were making an emotional breakthrough, and she fell asleep right on me."
After only a few days of getting to know Sally, Jessica saw another cat standing back and observing the two. The gray cat approached Jessica more as the days went by, but he never lost sight of Sally. He was Sally's partner, and Jessica quickly realized this.

Jessica started letting Sally and Jack eat their tuna inside her house every night. Sally usually always accepts Jessica's offer, although Jack occasionally drops by.
The pregnant cat's tummy got bigger over the course of the days until one night when she unexpectedly appeared at Jessica's door with a suddenly different appearance. After that, even though Jessica was aware of the kittens' birth, she was clueless about their places. She tried to find them but had no luck. But when Sally continued to drop by every day, Jessica would quietly ask her to bring her children the next time she visited.
After a few weeks, Jessica's desire eventually came true. One night, while she was opening her door, she noticed a small orange cat on her porch that resembled Sally.

Since then, Jessica has been caring for Sally's kittens every day. Each of the five infants has grown to have a distinct personality, and Jessica is enjoying getting to know them.

"Sweet potato is fearless and funny, Black Bean is the most observant gentleman I’ve ever met, and Gravy is Jack’s little twin," Jessica said. "Pepper is the runt of the group, but the absolute sweetest girl and Chai is the leader of the mischief."

Jessica would want to keep all the kittens, but she knows they would be happier growing up in their own homes. She is thus seeking caring and dependable pet owners in North Carolina to adopt them. The kind woman feels comforted by knowing that Sally and Jack feel comfortable with her; however, only time will tell if they decide to stay once the infants are adopted.
"Being an animal’s safe place is an indescribable feeling," Jessica said. "[They’re] so sweet."
