Gabriel Jesus Could Suffer A 3-Month Break After A Hefty Knee Injury, Reportedly

With conflicting reports about the seriousness of Gabriel Jesus' knee injury, the upcoming Arsenal announcement has the potential to be the most anticipated of the season. The 25-year-old made one start and two substitute appearances for Brazil in Qatar, but his World Cup was cut short due to injury. The Gunners have yet to react to the news. Since the club typically issues a medical update whenever a first-team player sustains an injury, a statement is expected soon.
Such was the case when Arsenal announced early in the season that Emile Smith Rowe needed surgery to fix a chronic groin condition and again at the tail end of the 2021/22 season when Kieran Tierney required knee surgery.

A Hefty Knee Injury Destroyed World Cup's Dream Of Jesus

Jesus left Brazil's 1-0 loss to Cameroon in the final game of the World Cup group stages due to right knee soreness, and speculation as to how long the striker will be out of action will continue until the club provides an official update. It indicated that the Gunners' £45 million summer transfer from Manchester City would be out for three to four weeks. This is not the best scenario for manager Mikel Arteta, who was hoping for a healthy squad when the Premier League resumes playing on Boxing Day.
If those rumors are true, Jesus will miss Brazil's upcoming friendly matches against Lyon, AC Milan, and Juventus. However, he wasn't anticipated to play in any of those games before Brazil's likely World Cup final appearance on December 18.
Even so, he is certain to miss both Arsenal's season finale against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium and their first competitive game of the year against West Ham United. Although he is expected to make a full recovery by the end of the year, he may not be 100 percent for the match against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on December 30.

In The Worst Case, Jesus Could Have To Break For 3 Months

Even though it's not ideal, the best-case scenario for Jesus's injury would be a three-to-four-week absence from the north London club. However, sources suggest that the 25-year-knee old's ailment is worse than first thought, and he might spend up to three months recovering.
If the rumor is true, the Brazilian won't miss any of the three Arsenal games previously indicated. Without an official medical update, it is impossible to say when he will be ready for selection again, but a three-month layoff means it won't be until the beginning of March.

Such A Mess For Arsenal

Arsenal's schedule for the next few weeks features games against West Ham (H), Brighton (A), Newcastle (H), Oxford United (H) (FA Cup), Tottenham Hotspur (A), Manchester United (H), Everton (H), Brentford (H), Manchester City (H), Aston Villa (H), and Leicester City (A) (A).
If Arsenal can get through Oxford in the third round of the FA Cup, Jesus will miss yet another game on the weekend of January 28 due to injury. However, he may be ready to play again on March 1 for a possible fifth-round matchup. If that doesn't work, he might return four days later when the Gunners play Bournemouth. Jesus would miss 12–13 total games across all competitions with a three-month absence. Arteta will have to hope his team can succeed without a player who has made such a significant effect this season, even if the goals have dried up recently.
