At just four hours old, the vet suggested that it might be best to euthanize him. Nubby’s afterward owner, however, made a different decision. Their hearts were melted when they met this poor puppy, and they wanted to give this baby a second chance in life.

Nobby faced a tough beginning in life. Born without front legs, he struggled to reach his mom for nursing. Though his mother accepted him, Nubby's siblings pushed him away, denying him food.

To make matters worse, even though it was heart-wrenching, the vet believed that putting Nobby down was the best choice. And at that time, the little pup was only four hours old.

But Lou Robinson, a compassionate Texan, along with her husband Mark, had a different plan. They chose to defy the vet's recommendation and take charge of Nobby's care. Nobby tagged along as Lou took him home. There, both Lou and Mark carefully cared for him, providing love, security, and nourishment through a bottle.

Initially, it seemed like Nobby was thriving. "His eyes opened, his ears developed. You could hear him bark; he could smell and recognize voices," shared Lou Robinson.
However, things took an unexpected turn. Around the time Nobby reached nearly one month of age, he began sneezing uncontrollably. He struggled to poop, and small bubbles emerged from his nose.

An X-ray revealed a problem with Nubby's esophagus, leading to a serious situation. Yet Nobby's determination and fighting spirit were anything but ordinary. He refused to surrender, and his foster parents were equally determined to give him a chance at a good life.

Thankfully, Nobby's condition improved over time. And three years later, this remarkable little boy has proved that he is a true survivor.

Recent updates and photos show Nobby in the best of health. He has grown into a strong dog, loving to play and always being curious about life's offerings. He even has his very own mini wheelchair, making it easier for him to explore and play.
Nobby is like a real-life superhero, proving that being different doesn't hold you back. At first, even the vet thought there was no hope, but thanks to the incredible love and care from Lou and Mark, Nobby defied the odds.
