Carolyn Mullet

In contrast to Alvin and his friends, keeping a pet chipmunk is a bad idea because they are difficult, high-maintenance pets. Chipmunks are wild animals that belong outdoors, but it doesn't mean humans and chipmunks can't help each other. Chucky the chipmunk, our main character today, puts all her survival hope in her trustworthy hooman. Don't miss her lovely story!

Youtube channel ChooChoo Lee's creators are a Korean couple living in a forest beside a lake and having an idyllic setting for filming their interaction with wildlife, mainly chipmunks. Furthermore, they help and take care of injured and ill ones. Still, they never expect one to knock on their door asking for help.

On the 11th of September 2022's morning, the husband, Tom, found an unconscious chipmunk girl, Chucky, on the deck by the flower pot. He picked her up and brought her inside. After a short while, she could move a bit but had difficulty opening her eyes. Since there was no wound in her body, she seemed to have a head injury affecting her movement.

They let the heart-melting creature have some rest in a drawer. Early in the afternoon, Chucky walked around for food. She couldn't use one of her limbs, yet she tried to go back to the woods after eating some seeds. The couple was concerned about her health condition, so they wanted to keep her until she got better and moved properly.

They built Chucky a temporary room from cardboard and a pink blanket. The chipmunk didn't like to be enclosed. She kept jumping out and running around in their house. Then, she would get tired from the court and fall asleep on the carpet, which was an adorable scene.

However, afterward, Chucky refused to have any more grapes, blueberries, or mealworms. She was struggling to find a way out. Thus, the couple decided to let her go. Don't worry, because two days later, Chucky, back to her healthy self again, visited them to ask for more delicious meals. They guessed that she had digested some poisonous fruit, and the toxic had been cleared out of her body.

Since then, Chucky has often been visiting the couple's place every week. For a wild animal, to feel so much trust for humans is remarkable and magical.
