Boss Implements Strict Punctuality Policy, Faces Backlash Instead

Manda Garcia

In a recent post on Reddit, a construction worker shared an interesting encounter with his former boss. The workers in the company often started work very early, so it wasn't uncommon for them to be a few minutes late occasionally. However, the boss became increasingly frustrated with employees arriving at 6:05 or 6:03, just a few minutes past the 6:00 start time (ironically, he himself was frequently late as well).

In response to this issue, the supervisor proposed deducting 15 minutes from any employee who failed to be present precisely at 6 o'clock. Little did he know that this decision would backfire. Here's the title.

The boss got tired of people coming late for work even though he also came late.

The boss was being unreasonable to OP.

OP wouldn't do the work for free.

OP stood up for himself. Bravo!

Haha!

The boss lost a ton of productivity.

The boss's policy was gone thanks to OP and his coworkers.

Worker solidarity for the win.

Oh no! It cost OP his job.

That was fair and cool somehow.
