In the world, millions of abandoned animals wander around the streets, trying their best to survive. They are all homeless, starved, dehydrated, and in need of help. Things are even worse when it comes to animals who are disabled. Without the help of people around them, their lives are surely at risk. However, our world is full of big heart people, and they are always ready to assist their poor animals. Just like the Samaritan Valeria, when she first learned about a sick kitten who was found next to some trash bins near her home, she was eager to help the one-month-old cat.

Valeria lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in January 2019, she by chance read an article about a little cat who was abandoned in the garbage. The man who rescued the young cat lacked the skills and funds to provide her with the care she required, so he turned to social media for help.
“I saw a post on Facebook from a guy asking for help,” shared Valeria. “He heard the kitten crying on his way to work, so he took it with him, but he saw straight away that the kitten was not well.”

According to Valeria, the man delivered the tiny gray and white cat to her house that evening after she wrote to him right away to offer her assistance. “She was so tiny, skinny, and dirty.”
Valeria decided to name the kitten Margot from the anime Lupin the Third, despite the fact that she was underweight and scrawny.

Valeria took the one-month-old kitten to the vet with the intention of getting her medical treatment and caring for her until she found a forever home. “I initially only wanted to foster Margot as I’m away for work a lot,” explains Valeria, who works as a flight attendant.
A careful examination, however, revealed that the kitten was epileptic and blind. And it was unable for Valeria to find anyone who wanted to adopt the special needs feline. “I started putting ads up and tried to get her adopted,” remembers Valeria, “but because of her disabilities, nobody wanted her.”

Luckily, Valeria was able and willing to provide the blind and epileptic kitten with the care she required, so she made the decision to keep the gray and white cat. “I totally fell in love with Margot, and thanks to the help of my dear friend Sonia, who became her godmother, I was able to keep Margot with me,” says Valeria.

While Margot requires more time, money, and effort than the average cat, she is an extremely happy and active girl who lives a fairly normal life despite being blind and suffering from epilepsy. “I guess most people think that blind cats don’t have a good quality of life and that they probably can’t run around and play and be little predators like other cats,” says Valeria. “Little do they know.”

Margot has no trouble getting around because she is blind, but her epilepsy causes her to run into things from time to time. Fortunately, Margot rarely has seizures thanks to medication, and while she requires more care than the average feline, Valeria believes Margot and other special needs cats are worth the extra effort.
“Yes, it is more time-consuming and money-consuming to look after them, but I wish people knew how gratifying it is to have them around and how much love they can give back,” says Valeria.
