A meerkat is a wild animal supposed to live in warm, sunny regions, such as the Kalahari or Namibian desert and other parts of Africa. However, fate is an unforeseeable thing sending this little meerkat to a cold, winter-like country Russia. Where does this story go? Please keep reading this post to the finish!

Nine years ago, Surya, the baby male meerkat, was brought to Moscow Zoo and met Ekaterina Kuraeva, a middle-aged lady living in St. Petersburg. Ekaterina didn't want the lovely thing to end up as an "office toy", so she adopted the little furry boy.Source: meerkat_suren

In his new home, Surya wasn't alone. Ekaterina already had a 2-year-old chunky Chartreux kitty named Nice. Since their first meeting, they have been inseparable and have spent their time together 24/7 as they cuddle, play, nap, and hug each other all the time.Source: meerkat_suren

FYI, meerkats aren't related to felines, though many people mistake them for some weird kind of cats. Despite not being in the same clan, Surya and Nice are a perfectly imperfect duo. Surya has a needy and affectionate personality, up to the point that he gets jealous if Ekaterina gives too much attention to the cat, then he jumps and claws to get Nice away.Source: meerkat_suren

Nice is much calmer and more discrete, yet he's happy to pay attention and caress when Surya requires affection. Their daily lives are filmed and uploaded on the Instagram meerkat_suren. Now, their mom turns 49 and is very glad to update every day on the platform and to watch them clinging to each other.Source: meerkat_suren
