We've all gotta started somewhere. No matter what is your profession, you never forget your first job. For many of us, it might be the pay, water cooler chat, or just the friendships that were formed. But for celebs, their first jobs sometimes are so special.
While many of our favorite celebrities are famous for their acting, performing, or singing chops, not everyone got their start walking red carpets and basking in the glow of the A-list. Surprisingly, Many starts started out by working with other famous people before hitting it big. For example, Harrison Ford was a carpenter to some well-known folks or Meghan Markle was a calligrapher to a couple of celebrities.

#1 Khloé Kardashian was Nicole Richie’s assistant

Khloé Kardashian got candid about her brief work as Richie’s assistant during an appearance on the Emergency Contact podcast. She explained, “She was one of my best friends growing up and we were just really, really close and then when she started doing Simple Life - I think it was after Simple Life - she just needed some help and I just needed a job”.

#2 Bethenny Frankel babysat Kathy Hilton’s children

On an episode of her podcast, Bethenny Frankel welcomed guest Paris Hilton, whom she took care of along with her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild while working for their mother, Kathy Hilton. Thanks to her friendship with Kathy’s sister, Kyle Richards, she landed the job.

#3 Meghan Markle was a calligrapher to Robin Thicke & Paula Patton

Before getting married to Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex taught calligraphy, gift-wrapping, and booking-blinding in Beverly Hills. Thanks to her capabilities, she used to write invitations for singer Robin Thicke’s wedding to ex-wife Paula Patton.

#4 D'Arcy Carden babysat Bill Hader’s children

D'Arcy Carden used to be a nanny for her Barry costar Bill Hader. She looked after his two oldest daughters and Harper. She shared, “I was with them every day, and I still am very close with them… The oldest one, in particular, I hung out with every day, we were like best friends”.

#6 Kourtney Kardashian was Kris Jenner’s assistant

In an interview, Kourtney Kardashian revealed that she used to be Kris Jenner. She shared, “I learned so much from you about being a boss..I just remembered that I don't take no for an answer and I learned that from you and I think that's an important thing for any boss woman to know”.

#7 Eric Stonestreet worked security for Brooks

Back in 1995, Eric Stonestreet worked security for Brooks at the country crooner’s concert in New York City. Brooks wrote on one of the pictures of their full-circle moment.

#8 Katie Lowes was Connie Britton’s nanny and assistant

#10 Mindy Kaling was an intern at Late Night with Conan O’Brien

When being a 19-year-old college student at Dartmouth University, Mindy Kaling interned at Late Night with Conan O’Brien and later went on to write a movie about talk shows called Late Night. She shared, “I was also the worst intern that's ever worked on the program … I wouldn't do the things I was hired to do. I would kind of follow you around”.

#11 Kiefer Sutherland looked after Blythe Danner’s daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow

Kiefer Sutherland revealed that he babysat Danner’s daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow. He said, “I was working in a theater with her mother in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and I believe on a couple of occasions I was asked to look after her for an hour or two”. He added, “I think it was very funny because it's unbelievable how fast someone goes from 13 to 18, and obviously they look so different that when Gwyneth started to work…”.

With the help from Feg’s father, news anchor Brian Williams, the Girls star worked as Fey’s second assistant while Feg was filming 2008’s Baby Mama and 30 Rock.
